WFH dog mom with some extra room!
Pet care experience
Currently working in a hybrid setting and looking to add a bit more fun during my WFH days, and weekends! I have been around dogs my whole life, my parents had a Lab and German Shepard when I was born and my house has never been without a dog. I have tremendous experience with large dogs like German Shepards, Labs, Huskies. Most recently my parents have adopted a Husky Briard mix. I also have experience with smaller dogs like French Bulldogs and different kinds of small terriers. During COVID, I was lucky enough to finally move into a place that had enough space to get my very own dog! Otis is my 2 year old Rottweiler who when I'm not in the office has every bit of my attention. Otis was the first puppy I have raised on my own, while it was at time challenging, it was very rewarding to see the kind and gentle he has become. I am therefore used to taking care of a puppy, working on house training (no use of pee pads), and their constant chewing!

I would require for Otis to meet your pup before boarding or day sitting to ensure that they are compatible. Otis is very submissive and sometimes more dominant dogs can take advantage of that and it becomes unsafe for him. Otis is more than happy to keep your pup company throughout the day. When I am in the office, Otis spends the day at a dog daycare therefore he is used to meeting new dogs regularly and has never had any signs of aggression. He is often used as an introductory dog for nervous dogs that are new to daycare. Otis is also used to playing with small dogs and adjusts his play for the size of a dog. I have a huge back deck that is guarded off with no stairs to get to the yard (elevated deck). Deck is safe for smaller dogs, Otis' best friend is a very small Frenchie and he is no where close to fitting through any of the slats. In the house, having had a puppy before, I can keep both dogs in my sight and away from small items. My main living space on the first floor only has large furniture and the basement is quite empty. Outside in the yard, it is not fenced, but I do have multiple leashes that can be used to ensure your dog remains safe in the yard. Otis does not leave the yard unless we are going on leashed walks. I also have no rear neighbours, my property backs onto a forest and I live on a quiet street.

Information Victoria J. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog get along with other dogs? Names of commands that you use with your dog? Are there any strict or specific rules I need to know? Any allergies? How are they on a leash (in general but also when approaching other people and dogs) and how do they walk with another dog? How is their recall?
A typical day
Otis is a high energy dog so I am always making sure he has something to do to fight boredom and ensure he's exhausted at the end of the night. This could be physical (lots of playing or running) or mental (training, smelling, puzzles). Otis also loves water and has his own kiddie pool and loves running through the sprinkler on hot days as well!

Availability
When working from home, I take Otis out for a 45 minute walk in the morning, followed by some indoor or outdoor play time. While working, Otis and your dog would have full access to the house to play, including a huge wide open basement, a large fenced deck, and my 1 acre yard. Otis has a variety of toys and bed to sleep on throughout the day as well. Periodically during the day, I either let Otis outside in the back (tied to a 40ft leash with a view from my office window) or I head out with him where we play some tug. By the end of my work day, Otis and I are off for another walk followed by some playing in the yard. On the weekends, we typically try to go for one activity, either a visit to a dog park, a hike in the Gatineau Park or a trip to the city.
