Full-time Dog Lover

Pet care experience

Welcome! My name is Victoria and I have two adorable dogs, Misty and Maia, who are my world. I am passionate about dogs and have years of experience in sitting and walking. Recently I graduated from the Animal Behavior College with a certificate for Dog Obedience training and now I am looking into internships/programs for professional dog grooming. Now I know I don't have a fenced in yard to give your pup unlimited freedom, but I do have two parks, one is a dog park, within a five minute walk and Quail Lake is a thirty minutes walk away. Also, on the weekends I love taking the dogs up to Stratton Open Space or Red Rock Canyon for a good hike and sometimes a swim. I keep an eye on dogs' behaviors and energy to know when and for how long they need to be out walking and playing. Your pup will want to take an afternoon nap when they stay with me and my dogs.

Victoria did a fantastic job! My dog was happy and I was thankful there was someone to check in on him while I was away for an overnight trip.

Victoria Gates is a well-motivated, dependable, and caring worker. She is detail and goal driven without being arrogant or argumentative. Victoria can be depended on to get the job done above and beyond initial expectations.

I cannot say enough good things about Victoria. She lived with us for a while and helped train and take care of our two dogs, all the while training her young pup. She is responsible, pays attention to the dogs' needs and moods, is a quick thinker when a situation arises and likes to research to find solutions to problems. Victoria treats dogs with respect and love and gives them the attention they require. Her kind regard for dogs was something we deeply appreciated, since we know not all people feel that affinity to animals that we feel for our dogs (we are suckers for our dogs! ;) ) One of the things I like most about Victoria is that she takes the time to learn, she tries to learn better ways dogs can respond and be trained; she tries different techniques, aware that different dogs will have different motivations. She is dependable and has a deep sense of good work ethic. I could go on... But I'll end by saying that we have left our two dogs with Victoria many times, for different lengths of times, and she often walked our dogs or took them to the dog park. I knew that any time we left them with her they'd get excersiced and be well taken care of! Thank you Victoria for helping us out so much this past year!

Information Victoria H. would like to know about your pet

Before sitting or walking a dog all I would like to know is if they have any tendencies or issues that may come up while they are under my care.

A typical day

When your pup is staying with me they get to enjoy the same routine and activities that my own pups do. Every morning the first thing I do (usually around 7:00 - 7:30), is let the dogs out to go to the bathroom. Then we come in and serve breakfast, afterwards I prepare some treats and baggies to embark on a 1-2 hour walk and/or around 45 minutes at our nearby dog park for some doggy playtime and games of fetch. Once everyone is nice and tired we head back home for some downtime for napping and chew toys. Depending on how the lovely Colorado weather decides to fair in the evening I either head on another 40 minute walk around the neighborhood before or after dinner which is given between 5:00 and 6:00pm.
