Dog trainer looking for experience!
Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Tori and I am a soon-to-be graduate student at the University of Florida. I am a novice dog trainer with over 10 years of experience taking care of and training family's, friends', and clients' animals - I mostly work on basic acquisition skills such as potty training, walking on a leash, crate training, social skills, and commands. I have 4 years of experience working as a veterinary technician and can make sure to accommodate any dogs with special needs, including oral and topical medications as well as most conditions that may require injections. My classes are mostly online, so I will be able to make sure that your pup is given plenty of attention and well taken care of. I would also love to let my current fur baby have a playmate every once in a while! We have a cozy apartment with two dog-friendly cats and a screened in back patio - our (supervised) animals love to sunbathe and look at all the squirrels and ducks and lizards that roam about. We are less than 5 minutes from Squirrel Ridge park and I take my dog on walks 2-3 times a day in addition to frequent potty breaks (she is bell-trained to let me know when she needs to go out - let me know if you would be interested in me teaching your pup this as well). I have 2 crates on hand, but you are welcome to bring your own if your dog is crate-trained.
Reviews
Victoria was great! Very good with communication and very punctual!
Overall we were disappointed in our house sitting with Victoria. We never felt like we could disconnect while away on vacation as she frequently checked in regarding concerns and questions that seemed like she was needing feedback or support though ultimately told us she didn't need anything from us but rather just wanted us to know. Communication was confusing and challenging. We also struggled to help her be open about some of our dog's struggles and concerns and though she expressed familiarity with guarding behaviors such as aggression but she did not ask many questions about our dog specifically and there was an incident that occurred as a result that could have been avoided. Communication was the primary challenge here and I do not think she is a good sitter for us. Our dog also now has some new behaviors such as barking since being in her home that he did not have before which is disappointing.
