Happy Paws make for Happy Owners

Pet care experience

I have a lot of experience in animal care! I have always had pets in my family from a very young age. Not only have I looked after my own pets but my family and I have also fostered animals for several years. I also worked at Wright Way Rescue (an animal shelter) as an adoption counselor for two and a half years. In that time I reviewed many medical records with adopters. Gaining lots of knowledge for dogs and cats medical needs and safety. I also worked hands on helping to care for animals in the shelter. I’ve worked with many different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I have also volunteered my time at Chicago Canine Rescue walking dogs there as well. I have lots of experience with dogs and cats! Have three cats of my own! Fostered many cats and kitten litters. And would often help in the cat room when working at the animal shelter! Don’t ask me if I love cats or dogs more! I won’t be able to pick! Haha!

Vicky did a great job walking our dog! She came by for a meet and greet before the day of the walk which was really appreciated and she sent photos during/after the walk.

Amazing service. Stays in contact and takes great follow up photos. I left for an 8 day family vacation and had no worries while i was gone. Came home to a happy cat! I will definitely be using her service in the future!

Safety, trust & environment

For Boarding: I have one dog and three cats all accustomed to new coming pets in and out of my house. All super friendly to new comers. My yard os not fenced but we have a leash set up that spans the entire back yard so they can still run around and play fetch. Dog Walking: I used to work at an animal shelter for two years so I am very familiar with walking plenty of different sized dogs with different temperaments. As long as I’m made aware what to look out for I’m comfortable walking any dog!

Information Vicky S. would like to know about your pet

It is important for me to know if your dog is good around other animals. As well as if he resource guards any toys or his food. For the safety and comfort of both me and your fur baby! Also whether or not your dog needs any medication. I am able to administer oral and topical medication. During my time working at an animal shelter I often helped the medical team give medication to the dogs. Some dogs even needed twice daily oral medication for heart worm that I was able to give. So I'm comfortable administering medication if need be.

A typical day

I love throwing the ball or frisbee for my dog Sandy. I also love walking through the nature preserve by my house with her. I'm a very active fit person so I can walk for a long time. I currently play volleyball at my college. And in my free time I love to visit state parks with my family including Sandy! And we all walk the hiking trails.
