Rescue Dog Mom + Work from Home

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Vicki! I'm a proud dog mom to the sweetest 10 year old scruffy pup named Charlie. NYC has been home for 9 years, and we are back in Everybodys Hometown. We love all of the fun places and things to explore. I have learned so much from other dog parents, from training tips to places to go, to health advice and the list goes on. The saying is so very true: "Sometimes the rescue dog is really the one rescuing you." Charlie has taught me so much, and continues to each day. He’s my best friend, family, and some of his dog friends are like family too. You will feel confident that your dog will get all of my love and attention, plenty of butt rubs and playtime, and treated as if he too is part of the fam. For daycare and boarding, my space in a two floor townhome is a very dog friendly setup to play and lounge comfortably. For daycare and boarding, my lil dude Charlie will be here and he gets along with other dogs quite well. *Worth noting: Charlie is especially good with senior dogs, and dogs that don’t often socialize; he has 'that' special pheromone. Also, meeting to introduce I think is best. I am happy to figure arrangements, so all, humans & pups, are comfortable. It's guaranteed your pup will feel lots of love, play, attention, belly rubs and comfy naps while in my care. Let's chat - inquiries welcome. :)

Vicki is a great sitter. She cared for my two cats multiple times, including when I went in to give birth to my baby. 100% trustworthy, caring and responsive. Would recommend her to anyone that is looking for a cat sitter.

My dog Ollie is slow to warm up to people, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how comfortable she is with Vicki right off the bat. I felt really good about leaving Ollie with Vicki because she clearly loved Ollie and treated her like one of her own. Vicki is also a diligent dog mom herself and knows everything to watch out for with dogs. She sent pictures throughout the day, and I was very happy to see how comfortable my puppy was in her home.

Vicki is amazing! She is incredibly responsive and responsible. She went out of her way to make me and my dog feel comfortable. My dog quickly feel in love with her. And I felt so good knowing my dog was happy and safe. Vicki sent great updates and was super understanding of all my crazy dog-momness. Her dog Charlie is beyond adorable. You will definitely fall in love with Charlie and Vicki! Thanks, Vicki!

Vicki was amazing with watching my little French Bulldog, Maxwell. I went away for 4 days and was worried how Maxwell would be without his Mommy. From the moment I met Vicki, she was very present and attentive to Maxwell's needs. Vicki even thought of a few things that weren't on my radar, which made me confident Maxwell was in good hands. It was also helpful to know Vicki works from home which made Maxwell feel less anxious without me around...plus he had Vicki's cute little guy, Charlie, to play with too! While I was away, I received multiple updates from Vicki about feedings, walks, play time, and tons of cute photos of my little Maxwell. He looked very happy! Vicki even shared with me times when Maxwell missed his Mommy and what she did to help him through it. I could not have asked for a better sitter. Thank you so much, Vicki, for taking such good care of my little guy!!

When walking, I keep aware and am cautious of scrap food a pup may grab and also the the energy of other dogs passing by. I will send you photos along our walks/ during all stays. My experience includes dog walks, boarding for several days, trips to the dog run (if preferred), medicine administering, building on training/tricks. I am always happy to bring Charlie along for walks, on if requested or preferred; otherwise it will be one on one time. I am good with dogs that are trained, those needing some guidance, and also have the patience and love for puppies and senior puppies alike. Puppies under >1 yrs, I am very good with, I just need to account for my time and energy; and also dynamic of my dog, especially for daycare/boarding.

Information Vicki M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know all the important things~ how your dog interacts with other people and other dogs, are there are any triggers or super-fears? Reactions to weather? Any allergies or special diets, or health items that I should know. Also that your pup is up to date on vaccines! I love all breeds! So no preferences when it comes to dog walks and in home visits/ stays. (I lived with, helped care, walked and got to love on a Great Dane for 6+ months here.) For dog day care and boarding, since my 25 lb little guy will be sharing space, I ask that you know your pup is good with smaller dogs. :)

A typical day

Each day we go for good walks around the neighborhood. There is also a large, I fenced lawn area behind the patio that I’ll leave Charlie’s leash on and let run free or let the extended retractable leash go for to play in the grass. I won’t let your dog off leash outside. I’ll stay active with your dog! If your dog is less mobile, I will gladly match his pace and keep a smile on his face. When inside, we will play with with an assortment of balls and toys. There is a basket on the floor filled with clean safe toys for the grabbing! I'm happy to work on your dog's commands, just describe your method and we'll get some practicing in.
