Pet care experience
I have had two very active dogs and cats for many years, did volunteer work with SPCA-LA caring for mama cats and their babies (for the first 8 weeks), taken care of several dogs for friends that had vacation plans and worked with many breeds for a previous employer. I love to walk with the four legged furrys as well as cuddle. I recently lost the second of two Aussies and miss that connection you have with the canine cuties. Please note....I adopted a rescue kitty that is timid around dogs, so your dog must be really good with cats. With that said, if your dog is more than 40 pounds, I won't be able to have them stay at the house. It is just myself and one other dog loving adult in the home. My life has included other creatures; birds, snakes, rabbits, mice, turtles and fish. Size and demeanor of your dog will determine if it is a good fit with Blue, the cat, to be determined at the interview! I WILL TAKE LARGER DOGS OVER 40 POUNDS, but there will be price adjustments depending on their needs and their behavior around cats. It would be discussed after I had a chance to meet your pet. SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR PET AND MINE IS OF KEY IMPORTANCE. They will be safe and loved in my home. Personal references are available. Just ask!

Very nice stay for my dog. Vicki is a kind person who made sure my dog was taken care of. Fully secure back yard, walks and playtime. Would book again.
Came and met my two chihuahua mixed dogs prior to staying with them. Madison, the barker, settled down when she fed them treats. They slept with her (as they do with me) although I told her it was up to her. She walked the dogs twice a day. She even hand fed fussy Maddie a bit to encourage her to eat. I would recommend her to others.
Vicki is a natural! Our Luna took to her immediately, which made us comfortable leaving for the weekend. Vicki stayed at our house, and we had no problems at all with her care, attention, and respect of our Luna and our home. We’ll definitely call on her again!
We recently used Vicki to watch our dog Max while we went wine tasting up north. Max is a year and a half old Brittany with a ton of energy who needs a LOT of walking. He took to Vicki immediately when she came over to meet us and when she stopped by to pick up a key to our house the day before we left. Vicki is so friendly and listened to all of our directions, especially regarding his needed exercise. When we left for wine country we were sure Max was going to have a great time. While wine tasting on Sunday we were so relaxed and care free knowing that Max (and our house) was in good hands. Upon returning on Sunday Max was very excited to see us again. Vicki left us a very cheery note and detailed how many times and minutes she had taken Max for multiple walks! We loved reading how much Max was walked and laughed at his antics with the "resident squirrel" who loves to tease him everyday. The note gave us a recap of the highlights to be sure! We will use Vicki again we're quite sure and we highly recommend her! Here's to many more wine trips.Cheers!

I have a fully fenced yard. Your fur baby will have access to both inside and outside depending on his or her needs. If at your home, it is what you would like to have happen to to minimize your pet's anxiety of you not being home.

Information Vicki L. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know as many of the little quirks you can share to make the "vaca-away" a more pleasant experience. This is important for both of us and your four-legged sweetie. With you sharing your personal experience of their habits and what you do will help with the transition of you not being around.
A typical day
With your input, I have no problem with allowing your furry loved one to do what is most comfortable from location and length of walks, what their sleeping and eating habits are as well as their most enjoyable activity. If you know your pet has separation issues, my stay at your home would help your loved one the least amount of anxiety. Please keep in mind that I do not mind going a ways out of my area. Your loved pet would be my job. I live close to a dog park, so if that is your pet's desire, we can do that. Ball throwing the the back yard is always an option as well. AND must be good with MY CAT. My recent adoption is a Blue Russian kitty. He's timid around dogs, but will defend himself if provoked. He does prefer small dogs, but is good with dogs that don't pay attention to him and is good at hiding when necessary.

I work a split shift a few days a week so I come and go throughout the day. This helps with your pet knowing they are not alone for too long of time.
