I come from a large family of animal lovers. I have personally owned animals my entire life. I've had ducks, cats, dogs, hamsters, and squirrels. My daughter is 13, and right now she has a small Shih Zhu, who is very spoiled and sleeps in bed with her every night. My prized pet was a cat who lived over 20 years. Right now, we are helping my dad with a baby squirrel that he rescued from a tree that was chopped down. She is doing great, has gained weight, is very active, and growing! We are very proud of her! My father has been hand-feeding squirrels since I can remember, so my family is a little obsessed with them. Taking care of her has been a 24/7 job. My daughter and I are going to volunteer at the humane shelter during the summer because we very much enjoy helping with rescued animals.
