I have been caring for animals for as long as I could be taught responsibility. My parents have always been animal lovers and went to school to work in the national parks, so they always instilled a great sense of care in me for both domestic and wild animals. It was most common for our family to take in strays over buying from a pet store, which sometimes had an extra level of care involved if they were sick or injured. I also have experience and skills with a couple more "exotic" pets. I've been a volunteer with Walking Wild Rescue since they first opened in March 2020. They are mainly a captive-bred fox rescue, but also have taken in wolf dogs, coyotes, raccoons, and skunks. Volunteering here has been one of the best experiences of my life. Many of our foxes come from fur farms, which kill these sweet animals to take their fur for profit in the fashion industry. Unfortunately, the fur trade is still very much alive. Ohio is one of a handful of states where it is legal to own a captive-bred fox, so we have also taken in foxes from families who can no longer take care of them. Foxes are definitely not like your typical dog or cat house pet, but luckily I am trained to care for them if you are one of those special families who've dedicated your life to raising a captive-bred fox. After caring for foxes, there's not much that can surprise me with caring for your dog or other pet.
