Gratitude, joy, (masks) and dirt 🐕

Pet care experience

I've spent my life learning husbandry with domestic/farm animals since youth, and spent years working with domestics/rescues in both volunteer/professional capacity. At this time most of the care I provide is support around the needs of local dogs, frequently anxious or special needs dogs, while parents work/travel; I do take most care assignments. I am newer to this service portal, and am excited to provide services here where pet parents can feel secure in the safety of their pet. I place focus on learning individual body language cues to more effectively respond to each charges communication style/needs, and want to hear how your specific animal communicates. I have experience fostering special needs dogs and cats, and caring for: reptiles (lizards, snakes, ect), horses, livestock, rodents, fish and ornamental/outdoor birds (ie. swans, geese, emu{(limited)}, chickens, ect.) *Note - for aquarium care I have extensive experience with my own freshwater tropical tanks, and regular maintenance experience with saltwater tanks. *Do you work/play late? I'm here for you! I am available for evening/nighttime assignments!* ~I am able to provide care for a wide range of pet/domestic species beyond dogs and cats~ Flexible self employment and daily availability allows for a wide range of care options to meet the the needs of your loved ones. I adhere to the Pet's natural feeding/care schedule when doing in-home care. My availability is wide with notice, and variable for, but open to last-minute needs. Please let me know if the slot you are requesting is flexible. As I work primarily on foot, arrival times are approximate. Currently Taking regular clients and drop in needs (schedule permitting). I am able to take requests for walks and drop-ins about 1.5ish miles from me, depending on locations of other dogs that day. My primary location is Eastlake, Seattle but can travel a few miles for house sitting, depending on availability. Response times may be a bit longer during my work day when the weather is bad, as I spend most of my work day outside, with a wiggly charge in my care. *Vax card in images **can provide digital vax card and negative PCR in person upon request** For long or complex services, I like to schedule a meet-greet with the pet parent to discuss all potential care environments and special needs; along with current training goals, personality, activation, play and affection needs. 🐶 💜 🐕Ultimately I am there to care for your family, your way. I have a wonderful cat companion named Igor who has a (well managed) chronic illness and dislikes other cats. He will tolerate them without violence or incident, he just really prefers not to. As such I do not host care for other cats in my home. He is fantastic with dogs however.

Absolutely not. Never ever ever ever ever. Vi was by far the worst pet sitter we have ever had, using any platform- to the point where she put our cats in danger. PLEASE do not book her for yourself! 1. She forgot to come to our home to feed our cats for over 24 hours!!!! 2. She brought a stranger into our home without permission. So we had someone around our animals and personal belongings whom we had never met and never authorized!! So disrespectful and irresponsible of her. 3. She lost the key fob to our home Working with Vi was a terrible experience and I would never hire her again. She was very apologetic and remorseful after we came back from vacation.. but then again, I would hope she would be. Ugh, so many nope's.

Information Vi N. would like to know about your pet

It is good to have a solid picture of each animal, as well as the individual needs and expectations of my human client. An ideal picture would include medical issues/medications and allergies, current training goals, age, feeding schedule and anxiety levels/activation with regards to relevant care environments. I like to have preferences and emotional needs of the animal explained to me vocally and love care docs! Due to the long standing anxiety effects of a scary medication experience, final ability to administer injected medication to fearful/reactive dogs will be determined on a case by case basis. You will likely know if there is a chance we will not be able to home medicate in this type of situation, and I will work closely with you to be sure that we are making the best decisions we can for the safety of your loved one.

A typical day

The needs of each client and pet are variable, and as such I usually discuss client's needs at the time of first contact to gauge if I am a good fit for you. I want to get to know your pet family! I am able to provide incline training and water/ park access to dogs in the Eastlake neighborhood upon request. For my active/curious dogs I take a different route every day to maximize stimulation and novelty. While I am not offering training in an official capacity on this portal, I am more than happy to support you in your training goals while I am with your family. Every animal is an individual. Tell me what they like, what they need, and what they're learning!

Availability

My boarding procedures are variable and mostly determined by the needs of my charge and client. I host only up to three dogs in my home at a time, and only combine dogs from different households with prior evaluation, consent, and open communication. I modify my scheduling around specific dogs based on the needs that I see once they are in my space and most frequently provide space for a single dog, frequently for dogs who struggle in social situations or with social anxiety/trauma. Please be aware that while I work with dogs with behavioral difficulties, I cannot board dogs in-home who are reactive to cats as I do have a large cat in my home. My house is well set up for boarding with plenty of spaces and accommodations for various needs and situations. Please feel free to ask me any questions about specifics that you may have, as that is often a more effective way to communicate about needs than creating an overly exhaustive list for the profile. I primarily work out of the home from midday till late evening, and reserve mornings for the release of dogs to their parents, and for work from home responsibilities, so do not often have early morning availability for routine walks that place me outside of my home. I am usually available by 12 for these when walks are open, though do start earlier If someone makes a special request and I have the availability. I often do this for house sitting as arrival and departure times are more random, and for assignments in/close to Eastlake.
