Hello! My name is Vesta. I grew up in northern Maine and have lived with dogs and other animals my entire life. When I was in 1st grade I picked out my first puppy, a Golden Lab, and she and I grew up together. Five years ago, I rescued a black lab/hound mix who now lives happily with my parents. I hope that he will come live with me again once I have more space! I have always connected easily with animals, particularly dogs. I'm very organized, smart, and responsible. I am patient and level-headed, two things I find very important when meeting a new dog! I greatly hope I can help you and your family by assisting in the care of your dog(s). Thanks!

Vesta was super-friendly and very responsive when we initially reached out to her. She got along with our dog, Bubs, right off the bat. She stayed at our house and spent quality time with Bubs for ten days while we were away on vacation. She was responsive to our messages and sent us photos while we were away. Upon our return, Bubs was happy and healthy and our house was clean. Thank you so much, Vesta, we will definitely let you know when we need someone to watch Bubs in the future!

I do not have any breed preferences, but I would like to know if the dog has any past trauma or sensitivities (if he/she was rescued, are there certain things or actions that trigger anxiety). Also, are there any foods the dog particularly likes or shouldn't eat? Any dogs or activities that should be avoided when out walking?
A typical day
I am very flexible and open-minded, so I would be happy to follow previous walk routines or be adventurous and let the dog lead the way! I can do long walks around town, but I am also happy staying home and caring for an older dog, puppies, or a dog with special medical needs or trauma from past experiences.
