Experienced with difficult dogs
Pet care experience
I'm not able to have my own, therefore I look for dogs to take care of! In the past, I've worked at PetMac Dc and with Homeward Trails, at the National Zoo I walk dogs of all types and take care of newborn kittens through the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. I believe love and patience are the best way to communicate with dogs and the best way of working on problems with them. One of my favorite things is to continously intellectually challenge dogs to see how much we can learn together. Of course, that includes the owners too: the dog should always know that their owners are their pack and I'm a friend. Communication between me the owner and the dog is one of my priorities. Whenever possible I adjust to the owner's and dog's schedule to not interrupt their habitual routines.

Veronika is highly responsive, flexible, and communicates extraordinarily well. She was particularly adaptable to a last-minute request for service. Her Rover Card updates were wonderful and our pups clearly enjoyed her visits. We will absolutely book her service again!
Veronika is so great! She takes the time to understand how you work with your dog, what the needs are, and helps continue any training along with the walks. Great experience. My dog loves her as well!
Vero is so great with our pup, Ollie. Ollie gets so excited anytime he sees Vero and she takes him on nice long walks. I would highly recommend her as a dog sitter or walker!
Veronika is a loving and caring individual, I have yet to meet an animal that doesn't love her warm and genuine personality. I would trust her with any animal of mine. when you trust someone with your dog your not just trusting them with your pet, you're trusting them with your friend. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Before taking on a pup I need to know their weight, overall behavior, and education level. I can adjust to pretty much any dog but I need to know what to look out for, what stresses her/him out and how he/she behaves with other dogs and people. I'd love to work on behavioral or other types of problems but will need to know what has been done in the past to alleviate the issue and how it has been done and if there are identifiable triggers that cause it. I'd also like to know the dog's habits for after/before or during a visit to adjust to it and make her/him more comfortable. I can give basic medical treatment as long as the owner goes over it with me to make sure I do it the way they and the dog are used to.
A typical day
I try to never use the same route twice in a row and to make each visit a little different and fun. Usually, I start each visit with a few minutes of play and obedience training and try to do the same at the end as well. I love biking and will gladly take dogs on bike rides if their behavior and owner allow it.
