I grew up with cats and have owned one most of my life. My husband and I had a beautiful British Shorthair girl whom we sadly lost last year, after 14 years and 7 months. At first we were so heartbroken that we didn't want another cat for a while. However things tend to change in life, so in April 2023 we adopted a feisty, lively kitten and named her Roxy. She has been bringing us a lot of joy and keeps us on our toes. My two years as a shelter volunteer at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton have given me a lot of experience in taking care of different personality types of cats. Apart from bathing, I learnt how to apply ear and eye drops as well as topical flea medication. It was priceless entering the cat room in the morning, being greeted by up to 15 different meows and leaving the cats clean, fed and interacted with! Recently I became Animal CPR certified with the Red Cross. Leaving your pets in the care of someone else is no fun.
