I am a recent college grad trying to save money to realize my own dream of adopting a dog! I have had six dogs over the course of my life and I have worked as a professional dog walker and in-house sitter in the past. I also worked with the Seeing Eye and I am well versed in dog behavior, training, health, and safety. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes, and there is nothing I'd rather do than pamper your furry friend. My partner and I live on the ground floor in a building that is dog and cat friendly (all sizes!) in Andersonville, which is one of the most dog friendly neighborhoods in Chicago. I work only part time during the week so I am home a lot, especially on weekends! If you are going away for the weekend you should consider letting me give your dog a little vacation as well, complete with adventures galore and a spa day. I look forward to meeting your furry friend!

Veronica is a fantastic sitter! She watched my boxer mix for five nights and we originally scheduled four nights. Not only did Veronica send me many pics of my dog looking very happy, but she was also flexible in extending the stay an extra night. As luck would have it, the day of pick up my car battery was dead, but Veronica stayed flexible and hung out with my dog until I could get the car started.
Veronica took excellent care of my dog-Izzy! She sent regular updates and Izzy was extremely comfortable with her. Veronica included Izzy in her holiday celebration and any trips out of her home. I would definitely recommend Veronica if you're looking for someone to spoil and care for your baby while you're away.
Veronica is the best dog sitter we've ever had! She's incredibly responsible. During the meet & greet, she asked a lot of smart questions about my dog and her schedule to make sure their stay together would go smoothly. And it did! Kiri loved staying with Veronica and I loved being able to go out of town knowing she was being taken care of. Veronica was in constant contact with photos and texts so I felt updated the whole time I was away. I highly recommend Veronica and plan to book with her again if needed!

Please let me know if your pet has any allergies or medical conditions. I would also need to know about your dog's eating habits - what type of food do you feed him/her, are there any treats he/she is not allowed to have, etc. Lastly, please explain whether or not your dog is comfortable around other dogs.
A typical day
When your dog stays with me, he or she will be walked at least twice a day, with multiple smaller 'potty' walks depending on your dog's needs. My apartment is located very close to Foster Beach, where your pup and I will enjoy long walks and games of fetch. If your dog is very social, I would be thrilled to take him or her on social outings with me at some of Andersonville's dog friendly cafes and stores. If the reverse is true, I am perfectly happy to stay home and play with/cuddle your dog in my living room or in my courtyard. I also offer baths and basic grooming (brushing and trimming knots, etc.) for no extra charge. Just let me know if you think your pup could use a scrub and I will bathe him/her in my walk in shower with shampoo approved by you. About my availability: I only work full time two days per week, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 to 5 pm. Therefore I will not take day boarders on these days. However, the rest of the week I work only part time as a nanny, and I am usually gone for less than four hours. On weekends I am pretty much always at home and would have nothing other to do than pamper your pet!
