Pet care experience
I grow up with dogs and cats and have a Rat Terrier myself. I trained my own dog as a service dog together with a trainer and I learned a lot about dog training. I am fascinated with Dr. Ian Dunbars “off hands, science based dog training” I did several workshops and I find it extremely useful. I do agility training with my dog but also love to go to Dolores park (not on the weekend), Mc Laren park or go to the beach and would love to take your dog with us! I always take care of friends dogs, run and play with them and take them for long walks. I am originally from Germany, I was a pediatric nurse and here in SF I work also as a postpartum doula. I think having a puppy or dog is like having a baby or child - a lot of fun but also a lot of responsibility. I love to take care of all kind of animals and happy to share all my knowledge and love to animals with you.

Little Mouse definitely enjoyed his days with Verena and her cute pup, Idefix. I felt well-informed and up to date with Little Mouse’s activities. There were plenty of cute photos, and Lil Mouse made some friends. Communication was easy and clear, and I would absolutely recommend Verena as a sitter.
Verena was a wonderful day care host, and person. She took loving care of my extremely energetic puppy and sent many photos of him throughout the day. Her own dog is a calm, excellent companion, too. I highly recommend her.
I whole heartedly trust Verena with our family dog. She is an absolute dog lover and our dog absolutely loves her. She is trustworthy and fun. She has a way of putting our nervous girl at ease and making her feel at home. She’s the best!
Verena has been watching my little chihuahua terrier, Zoey, for the last 8 years, whenever I go on vacation. She is so great with animals; She even gets my antisocial dog to play with other dogs, which is amazing!! Verena even excereisrs her more than I do. My dog is always happy to be left with her because she gives her so much attention and care. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to care for her the way verena does!

A typical day
I love to go to the beach (Ocean Beach or Chrissy Field). My favorite park is Mac Laren park but just with dogs with a good recall so the can run and play freely. At my house I have a little backyard with sun in the afternoon-perfect for puppies without all the vaccines. A little park is very close to my house, but I also like to go to Dolores park during the week, there are always dogs to play and they can run around to get the energy out. Upper Douglas dog park or Walter Haas Dogpark are also great options.
