Pet care experience
Hello! I have taken care of many dogs and animals of all kinds for years. Being able to spend time with dogs and animals of all kinds is the highlight of my day! I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, fish, horses, and more. I have experience with a large variety of dogs; large or small, young or old, rambunctious or quiet. I am also happy working with a shy dog or a dog with a sense of “stranger danger.” Patience, kindness, and understanding is key. I am kind and reliable when taking care of animals. I show up on time, send pictures and updates, and follow your instructions! The animal’s welfare and the owner’s peace of mind is what matters most. I do not cut corners; I go above and beyond when caring for any animal! I am able to give medications to animals (oral or topical), as well as other unique needs your pet may have. The safety and well-being of your beloved pet is of utmost importance to me. I always take precautionary steps to ensure that both your pet and everyone around them stay as safe as possible. If your doggo is staying at my house, they will be loved and well cared for! I have 2 acres that they can enjoy on-leash with me, as well as join myself and my dog on fun walks! Your pooch will be crated when I am not home and overnight - if you do not have a crate, I have a medium-large one that can be used. Your dog should be OK with dogs and cats, as I have both! In my care, your pet will be happy, healthy, loved, and well cared for! You will be able to rest your mind knowing that they are in the best hands.

Varana took such wonderful care of our dogs! She gave us daily updates/pictures. Our one dog is slightly challenging with newer people but she warmed up quickly with Varana’s calming presence and experience. We appreciate her so much and highly recommend. Will definitely be rebooking if she is available :)
Varana has the perfect calm but upbeat temperament that my dog Harper loves. She arrived and departed dependably and sent adorable pictures. Harper had a good run, did her business and ate supper. I’m so happy with Varana and I’m sure Harper is too!
Varana is exceptionally equipped to handle all your pet and fur baby needs. Our household includes a dog, cat, guinea pigs, and a bunny; we wouldn't hesitate for her to take care of any (or all) of them! She has experience beyond our fur babies' as well and is one of the most communicative and high-quality caregivers you'll find.

Your animals will be safe and protected in my care. Dogs stay on leash, and your kitties will stay safely within the home! I am cautious when exiting and entering doorways to ensure no escapees. My home has a double barrier door system to ensure everyone stays where they belong. When on walks, other dogs and people are avoided as much as possible and never approached, to keep everyone safe. I only walk on roads and trails with a low density of other dogs and people.

All dogs staying at my home should get along with other dogs as well as cats. Let me know their typical behaviors with other animals and people, as well as any other important behaviors! Same-sex aggression, resource guarding, high prey drive, and anxiety are all things that should be mentioned before the stay. I am happy to work with a dog with quirks or that is still in training, as long as they can get along with my animals peaceably.
A typical day
During 6 days of the week, the day starts pretty early with breakfast and a walk! I then leave for most of the morning, so guest dogs will have some downtime in their crate. I will typically come back sometime between mid-morning and mid-afternoon for a potty break, another walk or romp in the yard, and lunch if need be. Sometimes I am gone for a few more hours in the afternoon/evening, but oftentimes I am home. When I am home, interactive games in the yard or a walk in the woods is usually on the agenda! The evening consists of a potty break, dinner, lots of cuddles, and then one last potty break before bedtime in their crate. If your pooch needs to go out during the night, just let me know and I can provide that! When they are in their crates, they will have fresh water, and, (if potty trained and not a big chewer), a blanket or bed to sleep on. On Saturdays, I am typically gone for only a few hours. This means that there is lots of time for walks, interactive games and training, and other excursions.

Availability
For drop-in visits and walks, I typically am available early afternoon or later, but some days I am available earlier. Doggy Daycare and Boarding is on a case-by-case basis, depending on my schedule!
