About me: I am in my 30's and married. I have lived in Texas, Florida, South Carolina, California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Canada and overseas. I work from home for an automotive marketing company full time. I am also a dog trainer at Speak Dog K9 Training and American Kennel Club evaluator. My husband and I have no kids or other pets (no cats!) besides our three dogs, Elwood, Pensy, and Clementine. Elwood is an American Kennel Club certified Canine Good Citizen. Pensy is an American Kennel Club certified Canine Good Citizen, Canine Good Citizen Advanced, Trick Dog Advanced, and participates in the dog sport of Barn Hunt. Both Elwood and Pensy are certified therapy dogs with Therapy Dogs International working at airports and hospitals. Clementine is a certified American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog Advanced, and participates in Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Agility, Scent Work, and is training to be a Search and Rescue K9. She is a US Canine Biathlete and placed top 4 in the 2020 US Canine Biathlon Rewind. Dog experience: I am a dog trainer with Speak Dog K9 Training and an AKC Evaluator. I train dogs in beginner to advance obedience and manners as well as behavioral issues. I dogsat in Pensacola for two years with Dogvacay and Rover as we owned our house before we moved to San Diego where I did not continue dog sitting as we rented. I dogsat on Rover for 2 years in South Carolina. Now that we own our home again, I am happy I can continue to dogsit! I have previously owned a German Shepherd for 8 years and have experience volunteering at animal shelters. I also foster and am a behavioral rehabber for a regional English Mastiff rescue (although we won't overlap and have any foster dogs while your dog(s) are here). We have one senior adult male dog, Elwood (120 pounds, Mastiff/Lab mix), one senior adult female dog, Pensy (75 pounds, Hound mix), one young adult female dog, Clementine (65 pounds, Hound mix), all brindles. They are are all used to socializing with dogs and love to play! Our home/Your dog's home away from home: We own our house and have a medium sized fenced in yard, kiddie pool, with lots of dog toys and treats to share! **PLEASE READ IMPORTANT POLICY: Our own dogs do NOT go into our bedrooms. If your dog(s) needs to sleep next to people at night and cannot be quiet and calm when crated for the night, we are unable to take them (meaning: minimal noise, can hold their bladder overnight, and will not be destructive in the crate) and we are not a good fit for hosting your dog(s). ** What I want to provide for your dogs: I am happy to not only provide tummy rubs and hugs, but I can also do some basic training with your dogs, as requested. We only take ONE family of dogs at a time so you can be sure your dog(s) will get the attention they deserve and won't have to worry about getting along with multiple dog guests. I am active on social media and can send/text you picture and video daily updates as well! We go on walks throughout the day. I'll be sure to give your dog the extra attention that I give to mine!
