A little introduction: Hello and Welcome! I'm Vanessa and I would love to provide a loving and comfortable experience for your cat or dog while you are away. I have been a pet sitter for 20 years. I am a natural animal lover, with a special place in my heart for senior animals. I recently became at stay at home mama since having my baby. This provides me great flexibility to serve your pets, even on short notice. Whether your home or ours, we are open to your needs. We have a fully fenced property. I provide 100% supervised outside time. It is important to me that my daughter is raised to respect and love animals, so rest assured that she will be trained to do so from a very young age. She's just now starting to notice our cat and dog. (So cute!) I don't believe in children pulling at pets, hitting, jumping, standing, or laying on them. Some people think that some of these behaviors are cute. I think it's inappropriate behavior and potentially dangerous; therefore I would never allow my child to mistreat any animal or cause them any undue stress. Being that she is always with me, it is important that your pet is comfortable with small children around. Why board your fur baby at a kennel when they can stay in the comfort of their own home with their routines in place? I do overnight house sitting, drop-in visits for play and walks too. I will treat your dog as my own with compassion, understanding and love. I want your dog to feel comfortable, so if that means playing fetch or with other toys, that's what we'll do. If your dog is more of a low-key, snuggle bug, then that's okay too. I also have experience with special needs because my dog, Reilly was particularly challenging for the first few years after adoption. He has separation anxiety and we've learned to live in a way to take special care of his needs. I understand dog behavior, behavior modification techniques, simple positive training, and administering medications. Reilly is much improved, but still requires a little extra care. In addition to his behavioral needs, I've also had to care for him medically. This has gained me some additional experience that I find valuable. Reilly has really become a great dog, but doesn't care to interact with other dogs. Fortunately, we have a large enough home that this is not a problem when we host other dogs. Reilly finds comfort in being in my bedroom and this has worked very well to keep dogs separated. I know first hand how difficult it is to leave my dog with anyone, let alone a new sitter. I will care for your dog just as much as I care for mine, taking special consideration for any requests or concerns that you may have. I enjoy reporting about how your dog is doing throughout the visit and sending pictures is helpful for many owners as well. Have a cat? I love sitting for cats too! I'll spend time each visit playing with them in whatever way they enjoy, giving attention as they are accustomed to, feeding and cleaning their litter box.
