Being around dogs and taking care of them simply brings me so much joy! Getting to know each one of their unique personalities is my favorite part about taking care of pups. I’ve come to learn just how different each pooch is from another, but that only makes them all the more fun to be around! But one thing underlies every dog: their amazing generosity. They’re always there for you and happy to give you unconditional love. That selflessness has always inspired me to do what I can do help pups thrive in the world, so being a sitter really is a dream come true for me! My husband, Jonny, also assists me with sittings, mainly as my back up. He loves animals just as much as I do. In addition to being a lifelong dog lover, I’ve also had plenty of experience being around them and taking care of them. My first foray into professional animal care began when I worked at a boarding facility to cats. There, I learned plenty of important lessons on how to give animals proper care—things I still take to heart today! From then, I volunteered at the Humane Society as a dog companion and walker, where I helped socialize dogs that needed a bit of extra patience. I loved it! I’ve also studied to be a vet assistant, and picked up lots of different skills and knowledge there too. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. I know how difficult it can be to be away from your best friend, so I’m here to make that time as easy as possible! Even before the stay begins, I like to start by getting as much information as possible related to what your care expectations are. That way, I can start thinking early on about how to make your pup’s stay as great as possible. When they’re under my care, I like sending detailed daily updates on how your pooch is doing, including notes on anything you need to be in the know on—from exercise times to meal prep! Of course, they’ll always include accompanying pictures so you can see just how much fun we’re having together too!
