I'm a life-long dog lover and occasional foster mom. I don't live with any dogs (or cats) but foster one from time to time. Your dog will be the only animal in the house at the time of their stay. I work from home, so I will have plenty of time with your pup. I enjoy taking photos of dogs so you’ll receive plenty throughout the day. *Experience with dogs that are: puppies, seniors, special needs, in training, behavioral issues, on medicine **DOGSITTING SERVICE** - Apartment space ideal for 1 small/ medium dog and just blocks away from several parks. - I'm committed to giving your dog the customized care they need! - I live with my partner in a smoke-free apartment without children. - We have a car and can take fun trips around the city if your dog would like! - We have a dog car seat and carrier and some toys.

Vanessa is an amazing "dog mom" and a rare find on Rover- she is meticulous, compassionate, and caring when dog sitting. Our dog Kika gets spoiled when her auntie Vanessa is in town (we live in San Juan, PR). Vanessa has cared for many dogs that needed a home and others that didn't. I know about each one of her experiences and they have all been fairly positive. All I can say is that Vanessa is a joy to be around, so don't miss out on the chance to have your dog make a new friend or dog mom, perhaps? :)
Vanessa took care of my (very) high maintenance dog when I had to leave the state on a family emergency. She was super helpful, attentive and caring! She was gracious enough to let me introduce Leeroy (my Goldendoodle) to her prior to him staying with Vanessa. She was super thoughtful in asking questions about particular habits that Leeroy is used to, and was extremely accommodating! When she returned Leeroy to me, it was extremely obvious that Leeroy did not want to leave her side. It was clear to me he had a great stay with Vanessa and had bonded with her to a level that was extremely reassuring to me! Thank you Vanessa!
This sitter claims that she is capable of taking care of old dogs, did exactly opposite of the instructions and intact lacks common sense on how to take care of dogs. Left the poor dog on the floor for whole night crying when we instructed her she never sits on floor! Fed bunch of seeds and left our dog terrified. DONT TRUST HER!!

-We don’t have an elevator so your dog will have to be able to walk up and down sets of stairs (maybe 15 total steps). Unless they’re under 10lbs then I am happy to carry them. -We have an air purifier on throughout the day. -We have an AC unit in our apartment that helps during days with extreme heat. -Floors are tiled in main areas, and a large rug in the living room, rooms are carpeted. I’m very neat and everything is cleaned weekly. -I’ll send you updates and photos throughout the day

PLEASE LET ME KNOW… if your dog barks a lot and what triggers them as well as if they have separation anxiety. ~I’m seeing the anxiety be more common since families have been home more during the pandemic and it’s no problem. Usually the dogs end up getting attached to me and follow me around the apartment. ~I want to be cautious of dogs that bark a lot while indoors because we live in an apartment and want to be mindful of our neighbors.
A typical day
** Your dog will be with me most all the time; there are times I may have to leave for appointments or to run errands but when hosting dogs, my partner and I try to coordinate our schedules so at least one of us is home most of the time. Your dog must be comfortable being alone for at least 4 hours as things can come up. FUN ACTIVITIES: •Our friend and neighbor a 12yr + 1 yr old corgi who are pretty chill and befriends the dogs we watch so usually we’ll meet up with them at a park so the dogs can play. •On hot summer days, we go to a park by the water for the nice breeze and dip in the water.

RATE REFLECTS THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE: > 3-4 walks a day, go by their preferred schedule >We usually do a quick morning walk and longer midday and evening walks. >Upon entering the apartment after walks, I wipe the dog’s paws and provide them with fresh water (and food depending on their schedule). >We play with the dog throughout the day depending on their energy level which is usually the mornings and evenings. I work from my home office and the dogs tend to sleep at my feet or will be on my lap while I’m on my computer. >In the evening when my partner is back from work, we enjoy going to a park nearby (we’re fortunate to live in walking distance to so many!). >We do have a dog carrier (fits a 15lb dog) and a dog car seat. >We don't require crates for your dog's stay but welcome them if they are more comfortable with them. For additional walk times and care, there would be an additional fee for the amount of time/ care required.
