Pet care experience
No one likes leaving their pets behind, especially when you feel like you had to compromise on their care. I've been there. A last minute trip and you have to beg a friend to watch them. Or board them somewhere unfamiliar. That type of stress is tough on you, and your pets. Which is why I'm here to help! I will do everything I can to make your pet(s) feel comfortable. Do they have a favorite snack? Chew toy? Place to pee? You give me the details and I will tailor my care to exactly what you and your pets need to provide peace of mind. Let me learn exactly what makes your cat or dog the best one in the world, and I will endeavor to make them feel as happy and as comfortable as they are with you. One other thing, I am fully vaccinated and happy to provide proof if you'd like!

Any time I interact with a pet, I let them take the lead. Whether that's meeting a dog on the street, or a friend's cat I've known for years. It is important to recognize that, like humans, animals have their own set of moods and emotions. And just because I was giving them belly rubs yesterday, doesn't mean they will want them today. So making sure your pets feel comfortable with me in every interaction is key. As for interacting with "outside", I am always alert. This means being honest with people when they ask "Can I pet them?" by answering that I am a pet-sitter and don't think interacting with strangers is a good idea. I never want to put your pet in a situation where they may be hurt by someone or hurt themselves.

With every new client, I have a questionnaire that takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It includes all the information that Rover would provide, plus other questions about their preferences, temperament and schedule. I want to understand exactly what your pet likes, and what level of care you expect, to ensure that you're getting what you pay for!
A typical day
Oh the places we'll go! (Or not go!) In the many years of pet-sitting for friends, family, and on Rover, I make sure I ask you what you want *your* pet's day to look like. Do they have a favorite hike? Favorite spot on the couch? And if so, do you *want me* taking them anywhere? Safety is my #1 priority, so if you say, "stick to the rivers and roads they're used to" that's what we'll do. But if you want them to to have new experiences, I am happy to take them out on hikes, to parks or even happy hour! :)

Availability
I work remote from my home in South Boulder, which is conveniently located to HWY 36 and 119. My work schedule is incredibly flexible, so barring a meeting here and there I'm almost always available! I have no kids, and sadly where I live I'm not allowed to have pets of my own. My loss is your gain!
