Pet care experience
Dogs & cats have been around in my life for as long as I can remember! As a child, I grew up with a purebred golden retriever and then later on once I was older helped to train & take care of my family’s energetic adopted lab mix and an introverted black cat. I also grew up dog & cat sitting for neighbors with drop-in visits for meal time, potty breaks, and playtime. Since going off to college, I’ve been around pets less often so I’m eager to meet & assist you in caring for your pets!

Vanessa was really great with Astrid. She responded in a timely manner to any messages that we sent. She sent us regular updates and pictures during the times that she stopped by to take care of my cat. I would certainly recommend her to anyone with a cat. She's was the perfect cat sitter for the long weekend.
Vanessa absolutely loves dogs and cats, and really enjoys being with them, taking care of them, walking them, and playing with them. She has had a cat for 14 years and two dogs since she was little and she trained and went to training classes with her dog Cassie when she was a puppy. Vanessa was recently a student at UCSB and now works at Amgen and is the perfect person to be a responsible and loving pet caregiver!

Please let me know in advance the normal temperament of your pet, if there are any health related conditions, and then specifically for dog walking how your pet is around other dogs/passersby that we may encounter and how long of a walk you would like me to do. Thank you!
A typical day
Please let me know if you have requests for any specific activities I do with your pet and I’ll do my very best to fulfill them! With my family’s cat, I love to relax with them and occasionally toss a scrunched up piece of paper to see if they’ll play with it. With my family’s dog, I have loved walking, playing fetch, and practicing tricks. The many parks of Santa Barbara are beautiful, so walks through there would be wonderful but I’m open to suggestions based on the neighborhood you live in!

Availability
I graduated from UCSB in June 2023, and I’ve since moved downtown where I work remotely full-time while my boyfriend pursues a masters degree at UCSB. My late afternoons to evenings during the week are flexible for drop-in visits or dog walks, as well as typically anytime on the weekends!
