Pet care experience
I'm a student and in-home caregiver who loves dogs and can't wait to meet yours! I currently have a 4 year old medium sized terrier/doberman mix named Luna who is very energetic and loves other dogs. Since I'm currently in the process of getting into to Medical school, I'm home quite a bit! I am currently only offering overnight stays in the client's home. Your day/overnight stay will include a walk and/or trip to the dog park depending on location, as well as plenty of love and attention! Luna is great with all types of dogs and all ages! I'm a lifelong dog lover! I have had dogs since I was born actually and a large variety of breeds! Since I was a child, my family has always had at least 2 rescued dogs. We've had Poodles, Dachshunds, Spaniels, German Shepherds, Labs, and mixes of all kinds. Being in the medical field, I'm very health conscious especially when it comes to my pets. I only feed my pets high quality foods and treats and they are always well exercised and kept in tip top shape! Luna's favorite activities include walking, trips to the dog park, and going hiking/canoeing! Pets have always been family to me and I will always treat yours with the same love and compassion!
Reviews
I can leave town for some days and she'll make sure she spends time with my babies ??and that they're okay.I definitely recommend her !!!
My dog's enthusiasm when arriving at Vanessa's house tells me how much she enjoys her stays with Vanessa. We're satisfied repeat customers!
As always Petunia was very well cared for.... it was hard to get her to leave, she had such a great time playing with Luna and snuggling with Vanessa....
Vanessa took the effort to take notes on how to care for my dog and I thought that was pretty cool. She took great care of him, updated me with pictures, & conveniently brought him to work with her so I could get him earlier rather than later. She acknowledged his needs and she offered more than what I could have imagined. I'd def recommend her for anyone & I know I can trust her with my little guy in the future.

Information Vanessa C. would like to know about your pet
*Please note - I live in an upper unit (4th floor) so if stairs are a problem, I may not be a good fit! *Also, I cannot take dogs with severe separation anxiety or dogs that bark excessively. I live in an apartment and need to be respectful of my neighbors! There are a few things I would like to know about your dog before your first stay. I do require a meet and greet beforehand and I'm always open to setting one up. This helps me determine if I'll be a good match for you and your pets! I have a short form that covers everything from feeding habits, vaccinations, favorite activities, personality quirks and more that we can talk about at the meet and greet. I keep detailed charts on every dog that stays with us. Below are a few questions to think about before the meet and greet. In addition to the following questions, please feel free to provide any other information that you feel is important or will make your pet more comfortable! First, I'd like to know a little bit about you and your dog! -How long have you had your dog? -What is he/she like? -What kind of personality does he/she have? -What are her favorite activities? -What is his energy level like/ activity requirements? - Does she get along with cats? I also have a few questions related to general care. - Any food/drug allergies? - Any special needs or medications? If so, how do you prefer to administer them? Are there any specific things you do to make it more comfortable? - Any phobias or fears that I should be aware of? ex: loud noises, thunderstorms, children/adults, vacuum cleaner :) -What is your general feeding schedule? Frequency, quantity, and brand. ( Please bring enough food for your pet's entire stay) - What kinds of treats do you allow your dog to have and how often? - Is your pet potty trained? If not, please describe where you are at with the process? - Do you crate your dog? If so, when and for how long? I have a crate in my home but I rarely use it for Luna so it will be available for your pet. - Does your dog like walks? How is he/she on walk? How does he do on busier streets? - Can your dog go to the dog park? We go to the dog park every day as it's a great way to get out a lot of energy and socialize with other dogs and fellow dog lovers! If you would like your dog to go to the dog park, please provide me with your tag number or if you don't have one, please give me your license number and $5 daily fee that is required by the state.
A typical day
I like to be fully engaged with the dogs I'm sitting. And I will keep you informed of everything that happens along the way! I can provide status updates and photos throughout your stay so you know just how your little buddy is doing! All outdoor activity is monitored and your dog will never be alone. I do have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with disabilities including blind animals. Just let me know your dog's specific health history and we can work around it! My pets are my family, so I have no problem with them using my furniture. My dog and cat are huge cuddlers! They even have their own dog couch just for them, but it seems they prefer mine! Whether your dog prefers the couch, the end of the bed or the bathroom floor, all spaces are open to our furry visitors. A note about the cat! She is very friendly and loves dogs that don't pounce on her. But if your dog isn't quite cat friendly, she has another room to hang out in and sunbathe while your dog is here! She's usually in there all day anyway!
