I took care of him and he took care of me all the way into his old age. Since then, there has always been a cat in my life! I have always been fortunate to have close friends and neighbours who I trust to take care of my pets when I'm away and I would like to extend that same trust to anyone who might consider me to take care of theirs. I have experience caring for friends' cats and small and medium dogs! I would like to add that I like to get outside in pretty much any weather! I find that any weather conditions can be enjoyable as long as you are dressed for it! I am currently living in Mülheim, working as a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute. I will communicate in German for written correspondence, but I am still learning and my spoken German is not very good yet, so we will probably have to speak in English face to face.

Vanessa is the best. She was so reliable and communicative and I felt so comfortable knowing my cats were all cared for while I was away. She also was really helpful when I needed help for a few extra days after an emergency came up very last minute. I 100% recommend her!
I went with Vanessa for a drop in visit for my cat while I was at the cottage. She’s fantastic! Very responsive and sweet. I had no trouble communicating with her at all and she wrote the sweetest Rover-card for my cat. Don’t hesitate to book her!

Ich tue mein Bestes, um dafür zu sorgen, dass sie sich so wohl wie möglich fühlen. Das kann bedeuten, dass ich ihnen Zuneigung, mehr Spaziergänge oder vielleicht sogar etwas Platz schenke. Ich überlasse ihnen die Führung! Ich habe zu Hause zwei Alarmkatzen, die mich morgens sehr gut wecken und mir sagen können, wann es Schlafenszeit ist. Ich weiß, dass sie sich gerne an ihren Zeitplan halten, und ich gebe mein Bestes, sie jeden Tag zur gleichen Zeit zu füttern und rauszulassen! Ich halte mich an die gleichen Standards, wenn ich mich um die Haustiere anderer kümmere, in der Hoffnung, dass die Einhaltung ihres regelmäßigen Zeitplans dazu beitragen kann, den Stress, der mit der Abwesenheit ihrer Besitzer verbunden ist, etwas zu lindern. I know that pets can feel stressed when their owners aren't home and that they might need different things to make them feel safe. I do my best to make sure that they feel as comfortable as possible, which might mean providing affection, more walks or maybe even some space, I let them take the lead! I have two alarm cats at home, who are very good at waking me up in the morning and letting me know when it's bedtime. I know they like to stick to their schedule and I do my best to feed them and let them out at the same times every day! I stick to the same standards when taking care of others' pets, with the hope that keeping their regular schedule can help alleviate some of the stress associated with their owners being away.

A typical day

Meine Katzen spielen wirklich gerne Ball und Schnur, also sind das meine Lieblingsspiele, aber ich spiele auch gerne andere Spiele, wenn Sie mir Bescheid geben! Hundesitter: Um sicherzustellen, dass die Welpen die Erleichterung bekommen, die sie brauchen, bringe ich sie als Erstes zu einem Boxenstopp, wenn ich ankomme, und als Letztes, bevor ich gehe! Abhängig von ihrem Energielevel können wir spazieren gehen, drinnen ein Spiel spielen, abhängen oder vielleicht auch all das! Gassigehen mit dem Hund: Ich möchte sicherstellen, dass Ihr Welpe die Bewegung und frische Luft bekommt, die er braucht, egal auf welchem Niveau! Es ist mir angenehm, bis zu zwei Stunden am Stück unterwegs zu sein. Wenn Sie mir also mitteilen, wie viel Zeit sie gewohnt sind, kann ich das ermöglichen! Cat Sitting: I know that some cats are shy and may not come out to greet me, so the first thing I'll do is locate them and see if they feel like playing! If not, I'll give them some space and let them come to me if they want to! My cats really like to play ball and string, so those are kind of my go tos, but I'm happy to play any other games if you let me know! Dog Sitting: To make sure pups get the relief they need, I'll bring them out for a pit stop first thing when I arrive and last thing before I leave! Depending on their energy level, we can go for a walk, play a game inside, hang out, or maybe all of the above! Dog Walking: I want to make sure that your pup gets the exercise and fresh air that they need, what ever level that may be! I am comfortable to be out for up to two hours at a time, so if you let me know what amount of time they are used to, I can make that happen! I typically walk down by the Ruhr, but I also like exploring new areas of the city, so if there is a route that your dog likes, I would be happy to take them there! I will bring water and treats (if their diet allows) along to keep us going! I'll be keeping your pup on leash to keep them safe!
