ZERO STARS!!! I HAD TO PICK MY DOG UP EARLY SMELLING LIKE MARIJUANA!! The experience with Vanessa was so incredibly unfortunate! I have an 8 week old puppy that I was boarding and at first Vanessa seemed very receptive of my puppies needs and agreed to care for him and even acted as if she was excited. I was very clear that he is a new puppy with puppy like behavior, nipping at shoes, and anything that he could get his little paws on if not supervised— just as any puppy would be. She reassured me that she could care for him. Within 10 minutes of the drop off, I received a message saying “I don’t think this is going to work”— mind you my son in law dropped my puppy off due to me needing to be at work 2.5 hours away at 7AM so that it wouldn’t be a middle of the night drop off for Vanessa! I was unable to drive back to get him at this time, so I attempted to reassure her that he may just need a little bit of time to adjust to a new place and some comfort. Vanessa said he was whining and her neighbors were complaining (which I find hard to believe that a 8 week old puppy could be loud enough to wake up neighbors when she lives in a house) regardless, he is a puppy and just needs some redirection as mentioned before. I provided toys, treats, and his bed for comfort. Vanessa continued to send me negative comments demonstrating that caring for a puppy was too much for her stating “I am pregnant and can’t do the bending” and last minutely saying “I have an appt I have to go too and need to leave” after it was discussed that he is a puppy and needs supervision unless put in a kennel. When the appt was questioned she stated “dogs don’t need 24/7 care” however it was made clear that such a new puppy need supervision unless placed in the kennel. All in all, I managed to have my son in law go get Omen due to the pictures being sent of him sleeping every time and concern for her possibly giving him some kind of medication as this is not his normal behavior. Upon picking him up him and his belongings smelled of marijuana and he was stressed, hot, and used the bathroom twice for me as if he wasn’t cared for appropriately!! Vanessa then proceeded to act very unprofessional sending messages saying she was going to report me saying “my dog chews up furniture, pees in the house, and whines and stating that I owe her money for her furniture”. It was clear that the puppy needed supervision and he had never chewed any carpet or furniture of mine because he is supervised. Terrible experience and seems like an unsafe environment and someone who isn’t able to mentally and physically care for a puppy.
