Experienced Dog Walker
Pet care experience
I've always been a sucker for dogs, especially the larger breeds. I currently own a Pit Bull and a Husky and have walked everything in between from Dalmatians to Miniature Pincers. While walks should be fun, I also believe in creating structure to ensure maximum mental exhaustion-because a tired pup is a happy pup! I have been enrolled in Veterinary Technician and Animal Science classes, and was finishing my undergrad studies for a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine program at CSU until I realized that my true passion is connecting humans with animals so I recently switched to social work with a concentration on animal assisted therapy and interventions . I have worked in animal shelters and hospitals and am able to administer medicines if need be. Spending time with animals and giving them a fun, safe, balanced environment is my passion. Your dog(s) will be in great hands with me!
Reviews
I have been completely amazed with Valerie's ability to connect with any dogs that she comes in contact with. She has some 'Jedi mind' thing going on with them, which allows her to provide the upmost, caring, and loving interaction I've ever witnessed. She is definitely the one that I prefer and trust with my dogs, as well as the one that I refer to all of my friends and family! You will be grateful to know that your fur family member will receive the best care ever!!!

Information Valerie V. would like to know about your pet
Tell me about your dog! What do they like, what do they not like? Are they scared of cars? Are they prey-driven? Do they not like other dogs? Do they love a certain type of treat? Are they high energy? The more information I have, the better equipped I can be to tailor a walk/ play time to them. While I love all breeds, my true weakness is the Pit Bull type breeds. I have been involved in rescue groups focusing on the breed for 9 years now and have owned 3 of them myself.
A typical day
Ideally a trail or a park will be on my walking route, depending on your house location and the dogs' temperament. If you have a dog that is easily frightened then I will avoid any main street with a lot of cars passing by. Also, if you have a leash reactive dog I will start with more secluded routes until I learn their temperament and ticks.
