Large yard, flexible schedule

Pet care experience

Hello!! I've lived in North Austin my whole life and have always had a deep compassion for animals. In addition to growing up with and caring for animals (dogs, cats, gerbils, mice, hamsters, fish, frogs) I managed a local dog boarding/daycare/grooming facility for several years (was there for almost a decade) so I have extensive experience with puppies to seniors, medication administration, first aid & CPR, as well as the complexities and subtleties of dog behavior and language. If your pup has a wound that needs daily cleaning, eye drops, ear drops & ear cleaning, diapers or cones, etc I've got it taken care of :) I'm very well versed in anxious-dog and mastered the patience of adjusting to their comfort level and needs. While I am new to the Rover app, I have been a go-to for friends, coworkers, neighbors, and family over the years when they need a caring hand. One of my hobbies is pet photoshoots, so if you want some fun flair pics let me know (I love doing holiday themed and birthday shoots)! ***Before requesting BOARDING please read**** For boarding services in my home, I will ask your pup to be crate trained for overnight. My pup is an aging senior and he doesn't like sharing my bed anymore (it's pretty much his bed too lol), so we typically have overnight pups stay in the crate which I keep in my bedroom so your pup doesn't feel alone :) I also ask boarders to be current on rabies and DHPP vaccines, and preferably on a flea preventative. I can make exceptions for seniors that no longer receive the vaccs or who've had reactions to flea meds. Any questions about these please ask! I'm looking forward to making new bffs with your beloved bffs <3

Valerie and Juniper are absolutely wonderful. Valerie has such a calming way with dogs and was super attentive and communicative during the stay. I will definitely book with her in the future.

Valerie kept our cute Murphy for 7 days. He is notoriously shy and takes a long while to warm up to people. Just after a few days he felt at home. He actually enjoyed her backyard and even walked around her house. She was patient and so loving towards him. We highly recommend Valerie and will use her again if we are lucky enough to go on another family vacation.

Val has cared for our young, 21 pound, harness & leash trained cat (Boots Electric) & our eldest child-a senior, blind Pomeranian (DeLuca) multiple times. Every time we have been able to travel with no stress because we know Aunt Val will take care of our boys. DeLuca has moved on but Aunt Val was attentive to all of his special needs and aware of the specific needs a senior dog requires. Boots electric is a cat with a cat run out back, Val always ensured he got his outside time to roustabout then was unleashed and back inside for snacks and scratches. She’s an animal lover, caretaker & supporter- her mother works in the veterinary field so she has a knowledgeable resource. Val hasn’t sit for Boots & our baby pom (Dale Cooper) yet but they have met- he’s obsessed. We take great comfort knowing we have Val to provide our fur babies the care they need when we need it.

Safety, trust & environment

When visiting your home, respect and safety are key. I'm very detail-oriented and hypervigilant (blessing and curse), so I will notice if anything is slightly off with the animals or the house, and address it as needed. I always meet the energy and needs of the animals in my care with love and patience as I would my own. I don't anticipate any emergencies, but I have extensive experience with first aid matters and prefer to have plans agreed upon for "just in case" situations. This is your baby we're talking about and I do not take this responsibility lightly. I would love to know their favorite toys, games, activities, treats etc so they get the best experience possible while pawrents are away :) <3

Now that the weather cooled down I'd love to take the pups on walks and let them sniff to their heart's content. Tell me their favorite toys and activities and I'll make sure they have the best time, whether that is fetch, chase, tug, cuddles, watching animals on TV, treat puzzle games (I can provide), or anything else!
