Pet care experience
I owned and operated a successful pet sitting business in Delaware for 24 years before moving to the area. I have experience with dogs, cats, small animals, some reptiles, fish, I’ve cared for some goats and minor horse care. I currently have 3 dogs and will be getting chickens and donkeys this Spring.

If you’re an over researcher like me, you can stop and just pick Val now! She is reliable, trustworthy and caring. We tried different sitters before we found her and nobody came close to providing the same level of care. Val has been our pet sitter for over 13 years. She has taken wonderful care of all of our dogs, cats and even hermit crabs and fish. Some of our pets haven’t been easy to care for, with daily medications, food allergies and special needs, but Val has been able to handle it all! We always have peace of mind when she is taking care of our pets. She always leaves detailed notes, contacts us if there is ever a concern, and cleans up every mess our pets have ever left her as a present! Our pets love her and are always excited to see her! I come to your home, where your pets are most comfortable. I follow your instructions so they stay on the same routine and I am comfortable with giving all medications, including insulin injections. I take the security of your home very seriously and am comfortable operating alarm systems as well.

Drop in visits and dog walks are 30-min. I like to know about past and current medical problems, any medications they take and why, anything they are afraid of such as loud noises, thunder, things they like and don’t like, I.e. some pets don’t like their feet touched or belly rubs, some love pets in a specific spot, etc.
A typical day
I base activities on the dogs mood and activity level. If they love to play I play with their favorite toys or their favorite games, such as hide and seek or chase. If they aren’t very playful or are older, I will cuddle/pet. It’s THEIR time and I pay attention to what they want to do.

I am retired now and am available most days. I miss pet sitting, after pet sitting professionally since 2000 when I lived in Delaware, and would love to care for a few pets here and there.
