Valerie and her parents were the BEST doggie-hosts for two days! My family traveled from Chicago, IL to Ave Maria, FL for two days looking at houses and touring Ave Maria University, and it would have been impossible to do those things with a dog in tow. I found some dog-daycare places in Naples, about 40 minutes away, but I wasn't comfortable leaving Dixie so far away from where we would be. I found Valerie on Rover and she provided exactly what I was looking for ... a welcoming house with no other animals, a screened-in porch for some safe outside-time, and lots of attention for Dixie. I know it went well, because Dixie was happy and comfortable (not stressed or panicked) when we picked her up the first day, and on the second day, she walked in like she owned the place and never looked back. :) So, it was a huge success and I'll definitely call Valerie and her wonderful parents the next time we're in Ave Maria. I haven’t spent a day without Valerie talking about how much she loves dogs. She is one of the most caring, loving and responsible person I know, in general, but with dogs it goes far beyond. Whenever you see her first reaction with such passion and enthusiasm towards dogs is unbelievable and fills you with joy. Not to mention the countless times she is called in to pet-sitting for strangers, friends and family. In fact, every time she sends me a picture of the dog she is taking care of, you can see the love in her eyes. I strongly believe Valerie has all the personality traits and passion to be a responsible caregiver.
