Pet care experience
I am a full time social worker who is looking to spend time and form relationships with dogs and cats all over NYC as a side passion! I currently live in the Bronx but work and spend a lot of time in Manhattan as well. I have experience with small, medium, and large dogs both from family pets as well as previous pet sitting and pet walking jobs. I also have experience cat sitting; I currently live with a roommate who has a cat and frequently care for him while my roommate is away. Knowing no two animals are the same, I want to learn a lot about the unique characteristics of your pet and am willing to meet beforehand to see if we are a good fit. I will follow instructions and specifications to a T, and am a quick learner! My usual availabilities are weekday early morning (before 8am) and nights (after 5pm), as well as weekends.

We booked Valerie to watch our cat for several days while out of town and she was fantastic! Very communicative and professional, and sent us photos every day so we could see her and Nigel (our cat) playing and cuddling and having fun together. We so appreciated all the pics and notes to let us know how they were doing together and would definitely recommend her!
Valerie C. is a wonderful dog walker/sitter. She has cared for my parent's dog and for my own dog, and they both adored her. My dog is incredibly timid and he opened up to her pretty quickly--no treats necessary!! I know I can depend on her to take my dog on long walks when I'm busy. Valerie is responsible, trustworthy, and kind. As a bonus, she likes to send me pictures of my dog when I'm not around! I will gladly continue to have her care for my dog.
Needed a dog sitter while I was away for the weekend. Valerie was super flexible even after I returned later than expected. Now, I sometimes have Valerie check in on Luna. I believe she's in great hands.
I travel from NYC to LA multiple times a year, and it can be difficult finding a dog sitter. When a friend of mine reached out and said she would be willing to dog sit my shiba inu (Ace is her name) I didn't think it would end up being a reoccurring thing. Ace is very stubborn and she usually only answers to me, but after some time with Valerie it is great to see a connection build. Valerie is now my go to and I'm glad to see Ace has a new friend! :)
