Hi there! I'm Val, and I've been a lover of cats for as long as I can remember. I've been fortunate enough to have had kitty companions since I was a child, and became a full time cat parent in Jan 2010, when I found the sweetest pair of Calico kitten sisters at a Humane Society in Miami. While I had helped care for cats all my life, Manu and Lola gave me the honor of becoming a certified Cat Mom™️, and through them, I nurtured a passion and confidence in caring for pets, with a special love for animals of the feline variety. My undeniable love, curiosity, patience, and understanding for cats has won me the title of Official Pet Sitter* for all of my cat parent friends and neighbors, and I look forward to helping care for your cat(s) as well! Having recently lost my fur baby Manu to cancer after 13 years of companionship, I have a soft spot for senior kitties, especially ones requiring special attention and medical care. I had spent the last year taking my sweet girl to countless ER visits and vet appointments, and know how difficult it can be to find compassionate, trustworthy care for our kitty friends, especially when they're going through a physically hard time. I want to share the knowledge and genuine love I have for cats and help provide a safe, loving space for your kitty. As a media producer for a large tech company, I have a WFH schedule, so I'm available to host kitties here in my home, or make house calls. During the week, I normally have slow, quiet mornings and I make sure to give cats the space they need to explore and feel confident. I usually pop out for a yoga class either early in the morning or right after work, but I'm never gone for more than 2-3hrs during the workday. On weekends, I'll be out at most for 3-4hrs running errands, but I'll always make sure to feed your fur babies according to their schedules, and make time for cuddling, playtime, and, of course, photo-ops. I know how particular cats can be about being in a new space, so I am mindful of their curiosity and make sure to let them explore my home safely. Because I know our feline friends can have a tendency to scoop up anything they find interesting into their mouths, I make sure to always keep my home very clean and tidy to reduce and prevent any sort of hairballs or accidents. I'm a big believer in sending photo and video updates (if you want them) and if your kitty needs it, I'm more than happy to maintain a meal & bathroom tracker, where I take detailed notes as to what and when your cat is eating, as well as any medications, and monitoring their litter box activity. I used Pretty Kitty litter with my own cat to help monitor any changes in bathroom activity, and am happy to provide your kitty with the same, but I'll happily accommodate whatever your cat prefers. I know kitties are particular about smells and often prefer to have their own scent on their beds, so feel free to bring anything your kitty enjoys sleeping on, otherwise I gladly provide new cat beds and blankets for your fur baby. I also have a lovely, largely unused cat tree (Manu never took to it) and a variety of toys to keep kitties entertained. I want my space to feel like a home away from home to your sweet cat companion, and my goals will always be to provide a warm, safe, and loving environment for all kitties.
