Love to work out with dogs!
Pet care experience
I want to be a dog-sitter because I have a dog-shaped hole in my life! I grew up with two dogs (as well as cats, gerbils, and fish!) All through high school and university, I dog-sat for friends and professors. I don’t have any dogs right now, so I would love to look after your fur-baby! My full-time job is as a dance instructor, but my schedule varies from day to day. This means I will get to spend plenty of time with your pooch, whether they join me for a walk (I go for about two hours a day,) dance with me as I practice, curl up next to me as I work from home on the business side of my job, or pose with me during evening yoga. I get a lot of my exercise at some of New York’s fantastic parks, including Central Park, the Hudson River Walkway, and the High Line. Your dog is welcome to join me in the great outdoors! I have a knack for dogs with anxiety issues. In the past, I’ve taken care of them and successfully built relationships with them. They’re just really comfortable around me. I also love cats—they’re so cuddly and playful!—and I’d be happy to look after your feline friends, too. I believe a meet-and-greet is essential. Not only do I want to get to know your pup, but I want to get to know you, too! I’ll have plenty of questions for you, to ensure your dog has the best stay possible. I approach everything in life with enthusiasm, positivity, and professionalism, and that’s how I’ll treat you and your dog, too.
Reviews
This was our first time leaving our babe with someone who wasn’t friend or family and also our first time using a service like Rover, so I was a little nervous. Val was seriously the dream sitter and instantly made us feel comfortable - knowing Bueller was in good hands. She sent constant updates, pictures and check in texts, which I LOVED. Would highly recommend her and am so thankful we found her for future trips as well. Our pup warmed up to her instantly and she took great care of our apt as well!
Val was absolutely amazing! I was so nervous at first about leaving my little puppy with someone when I had to go away, but after meeting Val and seeing how she was with Axel- I knew he was in good hands. He absolutely loved her and she took such good care of him! She sent frequent updates and was very communicative. She was great!
I travel on a monthly basis due to my job, it has been a huge amount of stress for me to find someone I can trust to take care of my two puppies. Luckily I found Val, she is great! Really provides a consistent service. Loving, fun, kind and also responsible, trustworthy and accommodating. I wouldn´t trust my two little monsters with anybody else!
Val was amazing with my Russian Blue, Jones, and my corgi, Porky. They're both very needy and she was able to keep them happy and exercised while I was away for work. I would let her watch them again in a heart beat. They might even like her more than me now.

Information Val O. would like to know about your pet
At the meet-and-greet, I’ll ask you about your dog’s routine: how much exercise they get, what they are and aren’t allowed to do (ex: not allowed on couch, etc.), their medical history (including medications needed and their vet's phone number), how they get along with other people and animals, etc.
A typical day
My day-to-day schedule varies a lot, but you can be sure we’ll start the morning with a walk and potty break. After feeding and watering, I’ll get ready for my day. I’m rarely gone more than three hours; when I return, we can go for a longer walk or head to the park. If they get along well with other dogs, we’ll head out to a dog park. Then we’ll finish our day with dinner, potty, and cuddles.
