Pet care experience

Your dog is at home when they stay here. I am a work from home dog sitter who has a fenced in yard and years of expertise. I treat pets like my own because I worry a lot about how mine are treated when I'm away from home, and I don't wish that on anyone. Also, I love to send high quality photos of your pets throughout the day, so I hope you're ready for pictures. About Me: -I joined Rover because I constantly worried about leaving my dogs for work/trips and wanted to become part of the solution. When I searched for dog sitters, most: worked 9-5 jobs, were students in apartments, didn't allow on furniture, constantly crated dogs, didn't have a yard, and/or charged incredibly high rates. It is hard to find a sitter that works from home, has a fenced in yard, and treats dogs to all the luxuries of a HOUSE (my couch isn't beautiful anymore but its worth it for dog cuddles). I try to be what I search for in the dog world, so I hope I meet all your qualifications. My Qualifications/Services : -I've performed basic pet care for >10 years including: raising family pets, pet sitting overnight at others' residences, hosted 3 fosters in 2022, have owned and trained 2 of my own Australian Shepherd for 3 years (raised from 6 & 8 weeks old puppies), and had over 30 Rover Clients (daycare and boarding) before taking a hiatus for renovations and fostering. 1 foster was an aggressive reactive who I was able to reintroduce to strangers over 4 months and is now happy living in his new furever home! The other 2 have also found loving furever homes. -I offer boarding and daycare dog services at my home. My work schedule is 9-5, and I work from home everyday with plenty of breaks for the outdoors and play. I have 2 very playful dogs of my own that can wear out any dogs in my fenced in backyard. My indoor rules are basic (yes to furniture, no to chewing my furniture, and more plush toys ropes and tennis balls than any dog can need). Cost transparency: -I very much struggle to afford pet care when traveling. Its already so difficult to find sitters you trust, but all the expenses of travel can feel even tighter when it comes to paying a sitter. I charge as low of a fee as I can, and try to stay one of the lowest in the neighborhood even though I have a significant amount of experience. The amount you pay goes through a few steps before making its way to my bank account. Some examples: Rover does not reimburse us for damages (they only insure your dogs health), and I pay a fee for each booking. Taxes are filed as self employment, which are about 7% greater than normal income taxes. If a booking is $50, I will receive about $30 after taxes and fees, and then of that $30 I have costs such as: furniture/house/bedding repairs, yard/grass repairs, equipment and toys costs, etc. The cost of dog sitting is unfortunately quite high, and its very hard to find balance in pricing, I promise I am not charging my prices because I keep it all. I usually walk away with enough to cover my costs, and then pay another Rover sitter for a week or two of sitting per year for my own dogs. For any other questions, comments, or concerns please message me, I am here to create the best environment for you and your dogs' anxious search for a home away from home.

Tyler is great with dogs and has 2 of his own. My dog was nervous for the first couple of days and by the end of the week she was part of the pack. Tyler has a fenced in yard so that the dogs can safely run and play. Remy was never put in a crate and was able to sleep wherever she felt comfortable. I’ve already scheduled another stay and I would like to send her for doggie daycare, instead of the large daycare facilities.

Safety, trust & environment

I will follow all tips provided by you. I raised my dogs on positive reinforcement only, so I’m most comfortable with that, but can do muzzles, prong collars, and ecollars within reason. I’m accustomed to tolerating a dog that pulls, treat motivated exercises, and can crate if you recommend it. If you need me to treat your dog a specific way, I’ll follow through with your instructions.

Information Tyler S. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know ahead of a visit the energy level of your dog, their temperament around animals and humans, and their ability to listen/training words you’ve taught them.

A typical day

A typical board or daycare consists of spending lots of time outdoors playing fetch, tug of war, and general leisure. My other dogs will also enjoy playtime with your dogs. I can feed and medicate all hours of the day and typically go outside every 2 hours. I’m very flexible and accommodating to meet your dogs’ needs. A typical walk consists of allowing your pup to sniff and smell the outdoors and randomly introduce some spurts of exercise or stimulation. If allowed, some off-leash exercises like fetch and frisbee are even better because I can get your dog tired quicker with games. My favorite place to go are parks (not dog parks) or trails where there are lots of smells to stimulate your pup's senses and keep them actively engaged in their environment.
