Pet care experience
I have dog-sat/house-sat for many people in the past. One couple i use to dog-sit for, I’d sometimes stay at their house with their dog for weeks on end. Their dog was also reactive so I had to be precautious when taking him on a walk, going places where other dogs might be, or taking him to the vet. My family has also fostered in the past. One of our foster dogs we ended up adopting. He was older and had medical issues so that provided me with my first experience on how to care for a senior pet. On top of this, I have had a dog and cat of my own. I have experienced being an owner to both and what it takes. Probably the most important thing to mention is I have been a veterinary assistant for over a year and half now. I have worked alongside many knowledgeable veterinarians who have taught me telltale signs that a pet is sick or distressed and what to do in those cases.

Safety, trust & environment
I always care for other people’s pets how I would care for my own. This is what I would expect from someone taking care of my fur baby. I’d want someone to not just do the bare minimum (feeding, taking them outside to go to the bathroom). I’d want them to actually spend time with my animal so they didn’t feel lonely while i was gone.

Information Tyler M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know ahead of time if your pet has health or behavioral issues. I find nothing wrong with watching/caring for a pet with either of those but it’s important information to know so I can act accordingly. I just want to ensure your pet is in the safest environment it can be in.
A typical day
I know for some pets it’s important to keep their daily routine consistent. That being said, I like to listen to whatever the owner has in mind. If a dog needs to be walked at a certain time or a cat needs to be played with at a certain time, then that’s what I’ll do. If it’s up to me though, I’d plan a pretty fun day but play it by ear. Depending on weather and how far we can go, the day could consist of a long walk, the dog park, playing with toys inside, lounging, doing some tricks (if they know some). I like to just go with the flow and see what the pet is feeling like they want to do.

Availability
Weekdays, I’m typically fairly busy with school work. Although I have a fairly busy schedule, I manage my time the best I can to ensure that at least part of my day is free for outdoor activities or work of some sort. On the weekends, I am available all hours of the day.
