Sit’nStay Dog Boarding (Newcastle) 5* rated!

Pet care experience

With a collective 10 years experience taking care of dogs of most sizes, Tyler and Emily provide 5* Rated care to their four legged visitors every stay! Growing up with a range of animals big and small, from rabbits to large dogs, hamsters and more, we’ve always been passionate about animals. After owning a challenging cocker spaniel where we developed self-taught dog training skills, dog nutrition, and mental stimulating activities/methods, we dedicated ourselves to our own pet, and regularly apply our experience and learning to help our clients, if they ask. Since starting Rover in October 2022, we’ve helped many customers with their own dogs’ training; signposting them to training types/trainers/materials as well as offering nutrition advice, and demonstrating techniques and how to adapt, maintain and grow what they’ve learnt in their own home. From helping and advising first time puppy owners with their dogs biting, crate training, food and overall routine to helping a 2yo spaniel with his pulling on a lead, we’ve absolutely loved watching their steady progress. We often take dogs on mini adventures to local dog parks, beaches, woodland areas, dog shows/events, dog friendly pubs/shops etc and when it’s time to relax, we love nothing more than warm snuggles and chilling about the house with our four legged guest(s). (We’ve even taken a couple of our customers’ dogs on holiday with us!). Whilst we work full time, due to the flexibility of our jobs, we’re able to offer some of our own time and home to take care of your dog(s). We’ve had many dogs of all different breeds and sizes, with different personalities and needs stay with us in our home. Including, high energy dogs, puppies/senior dogs, dogs with special needs and everything in-between! All the dogs that stay with us have loved it, (we’ve even had to coerce some back to their owners’ cars on more than one occasion!), and many happily return for more staycations with us. Our wonderful four-legged visitors truly become a temporary part of our family, and we treat them as such during their stay with us. Visiting family and friends, taking them out on our adventures and doting on them as though they were ours, (they even get to pick out a toy and treat pouch after their first stay to take home as a souvenir). If you’re interested, please send us an enquiry and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. (Actual bookings will only be taken via our Rover.com website, this is for tax and insurance purposes and is non-negotiable) Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you and your pups soon!

From the initial meet and greet with Emily and Tyler, I could tell Merlin was going to be settled and happy in their home and I wasn’t wrong. For a clingy mama’s dog, he practically pushed his way into the house for his overnight stay! I was sent plenty of updates and pictures to reassure me, Merlin had some nice long walks and lots of cuddles. He can sometimes be a bit weird eating in new environments and the girls were so accommodating and really went above and beyond to make sure he was happy! Would recommend Emily and Tyler 100% and we will be back 🙂 PS Merlin loved his little goodie bag, thank you!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust & environment: We have a double fenced and double gated back garden with real grass. We own our house which is a 2-bed where the dog(s) will have mostly free reign. We do have a stair gate up to protect our carpeted stairs and bedrooms, also for the dogs safety. This is mostly only in use after walks, or if it’s a wet/muddy kind of day. The dog will be allowed upstairs and will be supervised. As a general rule, we do not allow dogs off lead and have long lines we utilise for playing fetch and for safer roaming. This is for the safety of the dog. For dogs which are crated, we can put the crate in the room that is most familiar to their home (for example if they sleep in their crate in your bedroom, we’re happy to facilitate this here too), just make sure to let us know your dogs preferences as part of their routine and we will try to accommodate best we can. No dogs or children live in our home currently. We do not take more than one booking at a time and we can only accommodate two dogs from the same household per stay. We also deep clean our home and car after every stay. Lastly, some of our clients were a bit nervous about leaving their best friend, especially if they’ve never done this before. As an FYI, we always offer either virtual or in-person meet and greets to any prospective clients, to help put their minds at ease. Qualifications: DBS Checked ID Checked Pet First Aid LOCAL DROP-IN ENQUIRIES: For local drop-in enquiries, our calendar may not be reflective of our actual availability, as it is quite hard to keep it as accurate as our boarding services. For queries on this, please message us with the below information and we’ll get back to you: - Type of animal(s) - how many in the home - postcode - time(s) required - exact service required (change water, feed, small walk, general company etc.) - how you intend to give us access to your home (I.E. how will you give us your spare key) Unfortunately, as are restricted on how far we’re able to get so and can only travel 5 miles from our postcode: NE5 3PT.

Information Tyler & Emily L. would like to know about your pet

For every new customer we ask standard questions about your dog, this is to ensure we are the right fit for your furry friend - as we only ever aim to give our four legged visitors the very best experience possible! The questions we ask are detailed below, and are regularly updated as necessary : 1. High energy? 2. Separation anxiety? (How are they being left?) 3. Likes/dislikes 4. Specified routine (walk frequency/times/lengths etc) 5. On a training regimen? 6. Any special needs? (Medicines, ailments or pains?) 7. How does your dog sleep? Is it crate trained? (How is their sleeping during the night? What time do they go to bed? Do they tend to need to go toilet during the night? Where do they tend to sleep?) 8. How are they around other dogs/animals? 9. Is your dog up to date with their flea/worming treatment? 10. Any known allergies or irritants? 11. What type of food does your dog eat, how often and how is this measured? (E.g. two scoops of Tesco kibble twice daily, morning and evening). 12. Any other relevant information 13. We would need to know if your pet is okay to be washed/dried when/if the occasion occurs. We’d hate for the dog to be uncomfortable if we’ve been somewhere a bit muddy/wet! 14. Please include photos of your dog(s)!

A typical day

Having owned a very high energy dog, we are of the belief that each dog should have a tailored experience based on their needs and personality. We have parks near us and a car to go on adventures with the dog such as to the beach or to other areas nearby like Newburn and Derwent. Aside from walks, we love to play in the house and garden, as we have a decent size garden so we often play with a toy outside.
