Eager to Learn, Eager to Care
Pet care experience
My family had Zoey (a Catahoula leopard dog mix) for almost 14 years before we had to have her put down in October 2016. While I did what I could when I could, being in college for several years of her life with us meant that I didn't have the chance to care for her as fully as I wish I could have. However, over the past year or two, I have had the wonderful opportunity to periodically house and care for my girlfriend's beautiful pitbull/labrador retriever mix, Boulette. I've learned and sometimes remembered a great deal about responsible pet care in the time that we've been together, and I'm eager to follow her own example and help to keep your furry, fuzzy, fluffy, and otherwise four-legged friends healthy and happy while you're away! At the moment, I am unemployed, allowing for a great deal of flexibility! However, I do hope to be working at least part-time again soon, and, come October, I will need to make weekly trips to Pittsburgh on Wednesday evenings for Choir rehearsals. Otherwise, the only time I would need away from your pet(s) would be to attend Mass on either Saturday or Sunday. I currently live with my significant other and our American Staffordshire, Boulette, in an apartment in Warren, PA. In the apartment, there is enough room for tug and general back and forth rough-housing and plenty of sidewalks outside to walk Boulette or any other dog sufficiently. Nearby Beaty Park is a great place to allow for higher energy dogs to run as needed. In a client's home, I will be sure to confirm what kinds of activities their dog enjoys so that I know what to include throughout the day, and what other locations we may have to visit to exercise their pet. I am available for either house-sitting or housing pets in our apartment, as Boulette is notably friendly with and eager to meet new dogs and my significant other is also a Rover Sitter, not to mention a skilled trainer. For drop-in visits and walks, many of these details are less crucial, but the same care and preparation will be present in whatever capacity is requested.
Reviews
Very good with Izabel & Aria. Calm and patient with them and their barking. I consider him a "dog whisperer ". Due to circumstances beyond his control was not able to "drop in" on schedule but made up for it with quality time when he visited.
Troy has been amazing, responsive and kind during the time he has taken care of my father's cats during his hospitalization. I highly recommend Troy for your pet/family!
5 plus stars for Troy!! I was so worried about boarding my dog because he had a rough background and is very attached to me. Troy did great with him, gave me updates, sent me pics, and I 100% will be hiring Troy again anytime I need to board my dog. Thank you for taking such good care of my Dason and for making my trip worry-free!!!
Takes such great care of our baby when we are away at work! I can tell he truly cares for him, and would highly recommend Troy!

Information Troy D. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any specific dietary needs or conditions, or if they have any injuries, disabilities, or healing wounds, please let me know ahead of time! I am comfortable keeping dressings clean, allowing for extra time when your dog walks or at mealtimes, and administering medication if needed. If you would like me to groom your dog(s) in any particular way while I'm with them, I am comfortable performing basic practices, though anything more stylistic is probably out of my depth.
A typical day
I make sure to take any dog I'm watching out for at least a decent-length walk each day. In addition, I love to take my own dog to Beaty Park to have space to run around and get some socialization when appropriate. If your dog is comfortable with water, a stroll by the river there would definitely be on the agenda! In the home, I'll make sure that they do not lose any time to play with their favorite toys or rough-house that they would have with their own family.
