Pet care experience
Thank you so much for considering me to care for your pet. I hope you’ll read through my profile, reach out to me with any questions you have and let me know what you’re looking for, so we can determine if we’re the right fit. I live in Birmingham with my partner and our 3 cats (Harvey, Catfish, and Lewis) in the Huffman neighborhood. I’ve had family dogs and cats my whole life, and I regularly pet sit for my parents and little brother who both have special needs pets who require injected medications. I was asked to pet sit for my neighbors’ special needs dog for the first time when I was 9. In high school I was a professional animal caretaker at the Greater Birmingham Human Society, and in college, I was co-parent to my best friend’s miniature dachshund, caring for her on my own often when my friend was out of town or working late. I had a hamster for several years, cared for a friend’s rabbits when his family would go out of town, and helped look after a saltwater fish and an iguana who belonged to former roommates when they were out of town, so I have experience caring for more “non-traditional” pets as well. I have experience administering oral, topical, and injected meds to pets. I love caring for animals, and they seem to like me a lot as well. I will always put your pets’ needs first and be fully transparent letting you know if I am unable to meet any of your requests so that your are able to find a different caregiver to meet your needs. I am happy to do a free meet and greet prior to bookings. Please reach out with any questions.
Reviews
Tricia has watched our dogs multiple times and it always great with them! She goes above and beyond and is great at administering meds and just generally being great to the dogs.
Tricia is the best!!
Tricia is great! Excellent communication, super patient with my diabetic dog while administering his glucose tests and insulin. I highly recommend and will definitely book her again!
Tricia is awesome! In just a few days, she completely won over my shyest dog! My other two loved her immediately of course. She was also super communicative and helpful when we had a couple of unexpected situations due to the extreme cold. I am a self proclaimed helicopter dog mom ? and Tricia absolutely exceeded my standards for my pet’s care!

Happy to collect mail, take out trash, water plants, anything else that needs to be done as well as caring for the animals. I like to spend plenty of time with pets to make sure they’re getting some love as well as just their food and water, because we all get lonely when our family is gone. I am confident administering all kinds of pet meds and happy to follow all detailed instructions regarding your pet and home care.
Information Tricia M. would like to know about your pet
There is no such thing as too much detail! Please let me know what kind of routine your pet has, any medications they take, the dose, and how often, as well as any tricks or best practices you use to help them take medicine. Let me know what commands your dog knows, what time and how much they eat, and any quirks or particular preferences they have.
A typical day
I will always meet your pet’s energy level and engage them with their favorite activities including but not limited to walks, playing fetch, going to the park, and of course lots of pets and snuggling.

Availability
I live in Huffman and work in Avondale. I work roughly 9am-5pm. If I’m coming to you for drop in visits or dog walking, I have plenty of time before or after work as well as for a lunch time visit depending how far you’re located from my office. My office keeps me conveniently located for weekday drop-in/dog walking clients in Avondale, Lakeview, Forest Park, and downtown, but depending on when you need me, I can travel farther. I have a good bit of flexibility with my schedule, so just let me know what you’re looking for, and I’ll let you know if I can make it work or not.
