Pet care experience
I have had years of experience in pet care. I started working at a kennel in my teens, and have been working at an animal hospital as a vet assistant for over 20 years now. I have done pet sitting on and off over the last 30 years and have recently decided to do it more often. I love to work with cats and animals with special needs. If you have animals like chickens, reptiles, gerbils, fish etc. I will take care of those too. Roosters are welcome! I have also been a horsewoman for 45 years and can sit horses and other livestock. I enjoy gardening and can do plant/garden care while you are away. I will travel to your house 1 - 4 times a day depending on your animal's needs to care for them or I can stay at your house. No breed discrimination, all non aggressive dogs and cats are welcome regardless of breed. Aggressive animals will be accepted on a case by case basis. Feral cats and feral cats colonies always welcome. Because of the other animals at the house there are some restrictions on who can come to the house, (must like cats), but any pet that can’t come to the house I would be happy to do with drop in visits or a travel sit. I will consider sitting well behaved stallions on a case by case basis. I have over 10 years experience as a vet assistant. I have assisted in the care of cats, dogs, horses, goats, cattle, sheep, alpacas, pigs, reptiles, fish and rodents. I have raised, trained and shown American Quarter horses for years. I love working with cats and specialize in taking care of finicky felines, especially cats with "cattitude". I also have cared for my own geriatric cats, including one who required substantial care with multiple medications and regular subcutaneous fluids. My partner Scott also has many years of experience talking care of animals and worked in a kennel for several years. We both grew up on a small farm together. Why I love dog sitting: I have had dogs for 40 years and have had horses and cats for nearly that long. I have raised, trained and shown American Quarter horses for many years. I have also worked at an animal hospital for over 10 years and have had extensive training though the animal hospital. My experience administering medication: I can give medications including injections and subcutaneous fluids.
Reviews
Trish is spectacular! Her attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond for our critters is deeply appreciated!
My kitty Cosette loved having Tricia stay with her. I’m not sure she even missed us!
Tricia did a great job with our puppies (and they are not always the easiest to watch). Very knowledgeable with animals and communication was good. Thanks for all your help Tricia!
Trish is an absolute gem! We were so pleased with the love and attention she gave our pets! We have older kitties with health issues and some other challenges and she did a spectacular job taking care of everything!

At home we have a fenced yard and two cats, one of which will make friends with your dog. The other one ignores the dogs. For travel sits I adjust my work schedule to fit your pet’s needs. During heat waves I may do daily walks after dark, early dawn hours. Cold not as much of a problem so if your northern breed wants to go for a walk in the snow I am completely fine with that. Dogs with good trail manners may get to come hiking with me.
