I haven't met a dog I didn't like.
Pet care experience
If I'm honest I love dogs because I love their company, they're good people. I became a volunteer dog runner for the Seattle Humane Society in the wake of our family dog's death to ease the loss. In my time at the Humane Society I learned to recognize and manage stressful or fearful behavior and how to cure or curb jumping, and bad manners without scolding or harsh speech. When I take a dog walking, it's about the dog and the precious time spent out in the world, (NO collars for walking, harnesses only), and if it's an indoor day, brushing, baths and storytime are always possible. I've been a pet sitter for various friends and family; I care for and medicate my neighbor's cat when she travels, I housesit a home with cats, a dog and some chickens once a year for 10 days, and I regularly escort Gizmo home, a consummate escape artist. Generally I'm available Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons and some weekends. I'm a great believer in teats.

I have known Tracy for the Last 5 years from the Seattle YMCA where I worked as a health and well-being director. Mrs Wessel was a member and also a volunteered at the YMCA in many programs that were designed to serve those who have been traditionally underserved. She did such a great job that I was glad to recruit her to volunteer at the Seattle Humane Society where approximately 4 years ago I started a dog running program. This program utilizes volunteers to provide exercise for the larger dogs at the Seattle Humane Society and after completing a 4-mile run the dogs are more relaxed and have improved odds of being adopted. She was very kind and generous with her time and efforts to help exercise the shelter dogs and to promote their adoption in the community. Tracy was also a trainer to the new volunteers who joined the program and served as a great example of positive impact volunteers can have in helping to improve the lives of shelter animals. Having been married to Tracy for close to 30 years I may be a bit biased in her favor. I know Tracy to be honest and reliable (among many other favorable attributes). She is an animal lover and owner of 5 cats. We had a very lively Border Collie named Lu for close to 15 years which Tracy took wonderful care of. Tracy has worked on a volunteer basis with the Humane Society in Bellevue - running the dogs for exercise. I believe this job to be a perfect fit for Tracy and one that she would take seriously, with great concern, affection and professionalism.
