Dog Aunt and Mom here. I have owned two dogs of my own in the past, but lost them both to cancer in their 8th year. Since then, I have been watching my parent's dog, my sister's dog, my friend's dog, my friend's dog at their house, etc. I am the cool dog Aunt. I block off my weekends for the dog park, for walks, and for dog play dates. Once the dog(s) are good and tired, it is couch cuddle time! My house is a traditional bungalow. I close all the doors to keep the dog(s) from snooping and pooping. I have a great fenced in backyard for the dog(s) to run around and play in. At night, I close the door to my bedroom if they are use to sleeping in a bed. If they are crate trained, the crate will be set up on the main floor next to a nearby vent for heating and cooling.
