Pet care experience
For 10 years, I’ve been pet sitting for neighbors and friends since caring for my own pets and volunteering at animal shelters just wasn’t enough time around dogs and cats! From feeding special diets to bathing, nail trims to teaching basic commands, I’ve done it all with juveniles, adults, and senior animals. When volunteering at local rescues, I’ve loved spending quality time with cats and taking dogs on longer walks or play sessions out in the yard. I currently take care of my own rescued dog and two rescued cats, so I also have experience with animals who may be a bit more skittish or shy with new people or situations. I’m definitely no stranger to cleaning up accidents! My number one priority when taking care of any animal is to make sure they feel safe and comfortable; from there, I always make sure to go the extra mile and make sure they feel happy and loved too!

Whether you’re a list-writer with step-by-step instructions for everything or someone who prefers to verbally go over the basic expectations, your wish is my command when it comes to your fur baby. While I prefer to have as much detail as possible about your pet(s) and their normal routine so I can make them as comfortable and happy as possible, I have a strong base knowledge of animals care. So as long as I know where to find their food, where to take them to do their business, and where I can get them clean, fresh water, we’ll be good to go!

Please let me know if your dog or cat has any kind of special needs or care requirements - whether that be medications or specific food preparation. If you know of any specific stressors (e.g., doesn’t like to meet other dogs on walks, sudden movements up close, etc.) for your pet, I’m happy to do my best to avoid them - one of my own rescues can be very reactive to her own shadow so no request is too silly. Finally, if there is anything your buddy particularly loves, like head scratches, a certain treat, a favorite ball, whatever it may be, please let me know so I can spoil them while their favorite person is away!
A typical day
I think it’s important to provide enough mental and physical stimulation for your pal during the day! I love taking my own two dogs on walks, teaching them (or reviewing) commands, and playing with them using their toys, but I'm happy to follow your usual routine.

Availability
My new full-time position starts on May 20th, but until then, I'm totally free throughout the week! So lunchtime potty breaks or post-work walks are no problem.
