Your Pet's Best Friend

Pet care experience

Although I have been living with pets my whole life, I have been professionally caring for other's peoples' pets since 2012. I worked as a dog exerciser and pet sitter for 5+ years in the extreme weather of Minnesota. Ask me about biking or rollerblading with your dog! I spent 2 years in Arizona taking classes full-time to get certified to train service dogs. If you want to have consistent training for your pet, I can and will enforce your rules. I also worked for 3+ years as a veterinary technician at a holistic vet clinic in Eugene. Your pet is in great hands here, and I can't wait to meet them!

Tori is a fantastic dog caregiver. In addition to having formal training in dog obedience, she also has an innate ability to care for animals. My dog, Fuji, is always calm and better behaved under her guidance. I have entrusted her with watching Fuji when we are on weeks-long trips, and always feel very comforted knowing she is in capable hands. Tori is also an excellent listener and happy to provide extra care that may be needed for a dog's particular needs. An added bonus is the adorable pictures that Tori sends of their adventures, with the dogs often wearing a cute bandana and exploring a new path or trail.

Our dogs love Tori! They love hanging out at her house, it’s basically their second home. Her backyard is very big with lots of room to play. Her golden retriever is very sweet and playful as well. We recommend her to everyone we know!

Safety, trust & environment

I tailor care for each animal based on their personality, needs, and lifestyle, among many other factors. If your dog is used to having two long walks a day, we will go on two long walks a day. If your dog is used to having frequent breaks outside, we will have frequent breaks outside. If your dog needs 4-5 short training sessions a day, we will have 4-5 short training sessions a day. If your dog needs crate time, we will have crate time. If your cat needs someone to scoop their litter box twice a day, I will scoop it twice a day. I try to be extremely accommodating to avoid undue stress for your pet while you're away.

Information Tori H. would like to know about your pet

If your pet has any behavioral concerns, I would love to know about them up-front so I can avoid them altogether. Does your dog like to chew on pillows? Let me know so I can make sure there aren't any left out. Does your dog seem aggressive with other small dogs? Let me know so I can make sure to cross the street if there are any on our walks. Does your dog get frightened by people in hats? Let me know so I can be sure to take mine off. Does your dog like to dig holes? Let me know so I can supervise them closely when they are off leash in the yard. I usually accept bookings from animals with behavioral concerns, but I would appreciate knowing what those concerns are for the safety of myself, your dog, and everyone around.

A typical day

For dogs in my care, I try to provide plenty of physical and mental stimulation. For physical outlets, I have a big fenced backyard for playing fetch or just getting the zoomies out. I also love to take walks around the neighborhood, even in the rain. For mental outlets, I like to hide treats or toys around the yard or indoors as a sort of hide and seek game. I can also do one-on-one training sessions to work with dogs on impulse control and frustration management or specific behaviors.

I hung up my hat as a veterinary technician to pursue my entrepreneurial spirit and passion for pet care. That's right - I'm 100% devoted to your pet. While I have hobbies and other commitments in my life, I take the care of your four-legged family members seriously and consider it a full-time job.
