Pet care experience
I have had several dogs throughout my life. My first experience with dogs was at my grandmother's house when I was a small child. She was always rescuing dogs and cats (and once an iguana) and had at least six dogs at any given time. I lived with her in high school and helped to care for her dogs. I currently have a behaviorally challenged deaf cattle dog in addition to a chihuahua. I also help my mother-in-law take care of four other dogs, a yellow lab, a chihuahua, a chug and a Jack Russell. I love dogs and don't know what I would do without them. I have learned a lot from having the deaf dog about dog behavior and language. I am currently a graduate student at UTSA and am studying accounting. I have a mostly flexible schedule (except when I have class) and can accommodate your schedule.

I love labs! I actually have never met a dog I didn't love, but labs have a special place in my heart. I would want to know before sitting a dog if they are afraid of anything, or if they have any issues with toys or other objects. I would also want to know if they are not allowed to have treats or are only allowed to have certain treats.
A typical day
I would be happy to walk your dog or drop-in to check on them or to feed them. I will take your dog where you tell me. I do not feel comfortable allowing a dog off leash without being in a fenced area. I would NOT bring my dogs over during walks or drop-ins, as my dogs are not well socialized with outside dogs. The chihuahua thinks he's Napoleon and the cattle dog has behavioral issues with other dogs. I have classes this Spring Semester (through May) on Monday, Wednesday, Friday in the evening and the calendar allowed no way to specify the hours I am not available. I am available every morning and early afternoon. I am available Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday all day. Please feel free to contact me about what times I am able to walk your dog or drop-in.
