Pet care experience
Welcome to the Fur Baby Surf Shack! I've cared for my own pets for the last 45+ years! They are a part of my family as will be yours while you're away on your adventure! I have cared for all breeds of dogs, cats, fish, turtles, lizards....even a duck when I was 10 years old! I look forward to getting to know your special fur baby, cuddling on the couch, rubbing bellies, going for walks, working on basic training and can even arrange to have adventures at Dog Beach if you wish and your little buddy is up for it. My dog Reef is very friendly and can not wait to have a playmate while you're away. My own dogs have been Australian Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and Reef is a Belgian Malinois/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, so I am no stranger to high energy dogs! I love them! :) We can plan a meet up before you go if you'd like to meet us ahead of time. I do have 2 cats that are chill with dogs and have free range of my house, so I do ask that your doggo be ok with cats on the premises. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend and providing for them the love and care they deserve while you're away. :)

Todd R. loves all kinds of animals and takes such good care of his own dog and cats in his home. We have had Todd take care of our dog and cat for several days at a time while out of town. He also has stopped by to walk our dog or tend to our cat if we are just running late and can't get home in a reasonable amount of time. Todd is very trustworthy and caring and we don't hesitate to utilize his services whenever we are in need of pet care.

My dog Reef and I start the morning with a good walk around my neighborhood and beyond... on weekends we sometimes load into my van for a walk on the beach. At my house, we work on basic training, lots of treats involved, and plenty of playtime mixed with relaxing and chilling out. I can provide separate feeding times depending on your pet's schedule, and at night there are lots of comfy beds for your little buddy to choose from.

Please let me know about any special dietary needs for your dog, or anything that you feel annoys or upsets your animal. I'm very aware of dog behaviors and body language to give me clues as to how your dog is feeling, but anything you can help me out with is greatly appreciated. If there's any kind of routine that your fur baby really likes that also is great news to share with me so I can make their visit as fun and comfortable as possible.
A typical day
We'll start our morning with some coffee(for me) and belly rubs! Then head out on a good walk to start the day... I'll be sure to take pictures to send you while you're away because I always love that when I'm gone from home. Then back home for some more playing, dog toys, naps & chill out time before another evening walk before dinner. I can arrange with you a Dog Beach excursion if you'd like, and I'm always reinforcing basic training with lots of treats! If your dog needs more exercise, or enjoys a special kind of play, just let me know!

Availability
I work as an Artist & Art Teacher so am home a lot! My schedule allows for frequent walks, lots of attention, and my animals have the whole house to explore. I have a doggie door to access my back yard, so potty breaks are not an issue. On weekends with your dog, there will be lots of relaxing on the couch, playing with toys, separate feeding times if needed mixed in with lots of walks and if you'd like, we can arrange a trip to dog beach for some quality sand time!
