I have a large, 4-acre fenced yard. We have a doggie door so that pets can come and go on their own schedule. Scheduled potty breaks for dogs still in training. Doggie beds throughout the home or bring their favorite.

I'm home all day, every day. Playtime/walks around our four-acre fenced yard scheduled several times a day. Younger or smaller dogs stay in my office when inside.
