Pet care experience
Hello. I’m Tina, and I’m a recently retired elementary school art teacher and live in Huntington Woods. I am a huge dog lover and have lots of experience with many types of dogs. My best friends, Kaiser and Sozay (shepherd/lab mixes) both passed away about 5 years ago and my heart is not ready for a new dog—so I’m filling that void by dog sitting. I’ve done over-night stays with several dogs and am comfortable with unique circumstances, including elderly dogs, administering medication, basic grooming, keeping to schedules, and more. I’m happy to work with you to get a plan that makes your dog happy and comfortable while you are away. I look forward to the opportunity to help and get to know your dog. I also love kitties! I have cat sat for many friends and have a cat myself so I know how amazing (and quirky!) they can be!!

Had a lovely walk with Tina. She was timely, kind, and comfortable with Mario, despite his over-enthusiasm. She’ll be house sitting for us next weekend.
Tina was wonderful with Rocky! We had her watch Rocky overnight for 6 nights. She took great care of him and left the house in great shape. She updated us on Rocky’s status and sent cute pictures. We highly recommend Tina!
All I can say is, WOW! Tina was an incredible dogsitter for a long weekend visit to Michigan. She took the time to learn the nuances of a Daschund, was super attentive and loving on my sweet boy. She sent pictures while I was away and was so flexible with our changing schedules. I have a hard time trusting people with my pup but I would 100% trust Tina with him again. Book her, you won’t regret it!!!

I have most experience with larger breeds but am happy to work with anyone. I would need to know a basic personality of the dog—(high strung, nervous, etc.) so I can understand his/her needs and how to interact with the dog.
A typical day
I love going for walks in the home neighborhood but am happy to travel and go to parks, etc. too. I’m happy and comfortable with a dog in my car, so traveling to a fun walk location is great for me if the owner is comfortable with it. I enjoy going to dog friendly stores, etc with dogs if it fits the individual circumstances.

I have lots of flexibility throughout the week. I sometimes care for my elderly mom who lives 2 hours away, but can schedule around those dates.
