FLASH SALE UNTIL APRIL 30TH
Pet care experience
Promo code TINAL73198 for 20$ off your first booking on Rover! Flash sale until end of April 2024: 15% off regular prices for walks and drop-ins, not applicable to sitjob services. Just mention code "HikesnHowls" and I will modify the booking to provide discount. I am available for sitjobs, walks, and drop ins: 6am-8pm, unless specified otherwise. On days I am not called into my 7 to 3 or 4pm job, I can be available for mid day walks and drop ins. Please inquire on availability. Weekends are usually flexible. I have been on Rover as a professional petcaretaker since 2019, and before that, as a pet daycare worker (at a major national pet store brand that rhymes with "netfart"). And before that, just had my own pets and enthusiastic about every pet I meet. I love caring for animals: dogs, cats, birds (caged domestic exotics), goats, chickens, ducks, horses, rabbits, fish, even plants. I have my own pet family as well. I know how precious your little one is to you. I hope to work with you to bring the best vibes possible. I am experienced in sub q fluids, diabetes medication, pill syringes and treats, and notate notable stool changes when needed. A pet's wellbeing is paramount for me, and I usually note any behavioral issues and interactions. I also recommend potential solutions to enrich an animal's environment, in response to their "energy" and my impressions of their behavior. That is part of my holistic strategy.
Reviews
Very reliable and committed to great pet care.
I appreciate having a cat sitter who knows how to work with elderly cats.
We have used Tina for drop ins several times now. Our dogs are always happy, and we receive great pics. Very punctual and a great communicator. Highly recommend.
Great job as always watching my elderly kitty, giving her sub q fluids, meds and lots of brushings and attention :-)

_METHODOLOGY_ I apply holistic principles to my "pet minding". My perspective is that pets are people too, and each pet is different, so they will need tailor made playtimes and walks to suit them. The priorities lie in stimulation and channeling destructive or overenergetic behaviors into healthy situations and environments. At this time I am not offering boarding services. As a sitter, I usually apply the 'pack it in, pack it out' methodology: I am a temporary influence in the pet's life and home, so I bring my own food, toiletries, etc and usually keep the home to the state I found it in. I document my visit for accuracy and write notes on pet behavior, funny moments, etc. I am a big cuddler and couch loaf, and at the same time I can go for a 30min to 1hour walk, if that is what your pet needs. I tailor my services to what the client and pet need. My priority is to keep both happy and relaxed, by keeping the latter exhausted and satisfied. (Spoiled!) I like taking advantage of a client's environment, whatever pet toys there are, and do my best to keep them calm and tired out at the same time. Either walks, or catching thrown toys, grooming, or visits to the local park. I try to make myself as available as possible, within reason to everyone including myself. I do not board animals in my home at this time due to the small space and lack of yard, and having three personal animals, which would not be an ideal for for many.
Information Tina L. would like to know about your pet
Energy level (high or low), whether they have any triggers (physical or emotional), and what diet they are on. Allergies are important, and if the pet requires commands/firm handling. If the dog has bitten a human before, and I am not told that, I may suspend services. I have worked with aggressive dogs, so I can handle it, but I need to be told everything about the dog, like a doctor or lawyer, so I can prepare as best as I can.
A typical day
Frisbee, wand toy, ball, tug of war rope, crinkle ball... I have played and roughhoused with both pitbulls and tiny terriers, so no discomfort there! Whether it is a small dog or a big dog, I try my best to figure out how to play with them. Any tips are loved and appreciated, and expanded upon. I usually try to do different routes to keep the walks interesting to my regular walk clients.
