ATTENTION: I only board FEMALE dogs. I've had too many issues with male dogs peeing in the house. Also, your dog must be on flea medication or have a flea collar. Hello. My name is Timothy Doepker (pronounced Depker). I am 35 years old and live alone in a gorgeous home in Squirrel Hill that I rent off my parents. I have one dog, an extremely mellow, dog-friendly rescue hound named Beau. I also walk a few dogs in the neighborhood. Pre-Covid, I had a very successful dog business, which I have operated since 2012, and I also worked at Camp Bow Wow for 10 months. In my career, I've walked a countless number of different dogs and have also boarded about 100 different dogs in my home, without any incidents. I have never lost a dog. I walk them in fleece harnesses and use a leash adapter to connect the harness to the collar, in case a dog backs out of the harness. I have a beautiful, large, fenced-in backyard (80 feet long by 35 feet wide, with grass, mulch, and trees), and a double gate just like a dog park to prevent any escapes. Your dog will have full run of the house, both the finished basement and the first floor, while I am home. If your dog is well-behaved, they can have full run of the house while I am gone, to look out the first floor window, or if they need to be confined when alone, one of the empty rooms in the finished basement will suffice. A typical day for your dog with me will be 2-3 hours of leashed walking, with the opportunity to sniff, as well as a romp at the Frick Dog Park (if you are O.K. with me taking your pup there). I like to really tire out any dog I watch so that they are calm and restful in the house. I do this dog business full-time, and your dog will spend very little time alone. I spend a lot of time home alone reading and working out and doing brain games. The longest your dog will ever be alone is 2 days a week, when I do cement work for 6 hours, and on those days my mother comes over to let Beau and your dog outside.
