Pet care experience
I've cared for and owned dogs in my personal life as long as I can remember. About five years ago, I began working with them in a professional context, as handler in a high-volume daycare. I was soon promoted to staff trainer, teaching new hires to handle and care for large groups of dogs in a safe, compassionate manner. Unfortunately, I had to leave my full-time job to return to school. I miss working with dogs very much, so I'm dog-sitting as much for my personal happiness as financial reasons. I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, ages, and dispositions, and as well as accommodating the needs of dogs that might require special care and attention. It is of the utmost importance to me that your dog is both safe and happy in your absence.

Tim is an excellent, reliable, trustworthy pet sitter who my dogs greet with true enthusiasm each time they see him. Tim took care of my two dogs in my home for 19 days in June-July of 2023. His stay included a visit to an emergency vet plus a follow-up visit with their regular vet which Tim handled calmly, efficiently and well. Tim sent regular text and photo updates as well as delightful videos. Neighbors who saw Tim walking my dogs said he was fabulous with them and confirmed my dogs were in good hands. Tim also took great care of my house and left it in great shape and clean. Tim is a true gem. I highly recommend him and look forward to having him take care of my dogs in the future!
Tim was wonderful! It is obvious he really cares about your animals. He was communicative and sent pictures. It was easy to relax on vacation knowing the dogs were at home being well cared for!
Tim took great care of my dog Boomer and I was completely at ease while I was out of town. Coming home to Boomer being happy and healthy plus my place being spotless like he was never here was an added bonus - he even offered to wash my bedding before he left! I wouldn't hesitate to leave Boomer with Tim again.
Tim is the absolute best. He cared for our new puppy, she is 11weeks old (who would be willing and able to do that), Tim did. Not only that but he was amazing with both our dogs. My neighbors would send me texts about how wonderful he is. Thank you Tim. You put our minds at ease and brought our dogs and neighborhood joy.

As an experienced handler, your dog will be kept safe at all times regardless of the activity. Dog walks are on-leash at all times, while home care will always be conducted in enclosed spaces. All pets under my care are carefully monitored to ensure they are healthy and happy. I'm happy to text daily photos of your pet and usually do for most of my clients (usually via text, so Rover doesn't count that!)

I love dogs of all breeds. Before sitting your dog I'd like to know any special care instructions you have, as well as your dog's favorite activities. If your dog has any dietary restrictions or medications, please inform me of these as well. Anxious or reactive dogs might require an introduction with you present. I prefer an open line of communication with my clients. I check in often with new clients to see if certain behaviors are normal, since behavioral changes are often the earliest sign dog is sick or unhappy. Once I get to know them better, I'll bug you a lot less :). Regrettably I am allergic to cats, and can't stay in homes with indoor cat for long periods of time. Sorry!
A typical day
I'd love to run, walk, hike play, or give attention with your dog as needed. I have a car to take your dog either to the dog park, or for hikes in nearby nature. If your dog is a couch-potato and just needs someone to hang out with, I'm happy to do that as well.

Availability
I work from home as a freelance writer, so I'm easily able to stay in your home with your dog throughout the day or pick up dogs for a walk on a regular basis. At the moment I am only considering dogs I have met and established a relationship with for boarding.
