I have always owned at least two dogs at a time before I began college and was their primary care taker. I playing with dogs and just spending time with them and keeping them company. I have a lot of free time over break and still some during the school quarter that I am usually a lone or with one of my roommates who also love dogs. I have trained all of my dogs and trained dogs for other people (mostly the basics). I like to spend a lot of time outside and have plenty of room inside my apartment if it gets too cold or rest is needed. I do live in an on-campus apartment, but it is dogs friendly as is the entire campus.
