Pet care experience

I'm currently working part-time at the Humane Society for SW Washington, so I'd love to fill the rest of my time having fun and taking care of your fur baby/ies! I work Sundays and Mondays from 7:30-3pm, and Thursdays and Fridays from 11-6:30pm. Prior to making a request, please understand that I’ll be gone for around 8-8.5 hours (including drive times) on those days. Thank you for understanding!

Tiana is wonderful! She has watched our young, crazy chocolate lab two times now (this most recent time for 5 nights) and she has been kind, communicative, attentive to our dog’s needs, and very thorough. You can tell Tiana has a deep knowledge of and love for animals in how patient and sweet she is to pups, taking time to love on ours while also reinforcing training that has lapsed while we have simultaneously been raising a toddler. Tiana took the time to have a doggy play date with our favorite neighbor dog friend in addition to regular walks and mental stimulation. She left the house cleaner than she found it and our dog was happy and healthy as could be when we got home.

Tiana did a great job caring for our very nervous puppy. She's not an easy customer and Tiana went out of her way to make her as comfortable as possible while we were away. She also sent pictures and updated us daily, which gave us reassurance.

Safety, trust & environment

My sister and I live together, and she has an adult dog (Besos) and a senior cat (Cotton Ball). Bae can be territorial around other dogs in our house, and Cotton Ball doesn’t like to be around other dogs and cats, so I normally don’t board dogs at my house. Dog boarding could be a possibility for future services depending on how well the dogs get along with each other (no cats though, I’m sorry). For right now, I can do drop-in visits and/or dog walks a couple times a day since I have a reliable car, or I can stay overnight if house sitting works better with your pets’ needs.

Information Tiana Z. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs and/or offensive behaviors that I need to account for. Examples might include, but are not limited to: - Additional assistance with getting in and out of a car and/or bed, - food and/or environmental allergies, - specific medication and/or food regimens, - tendencies to bolt and run away (especially from cars and/or doors), - resource guarding, - sensitive areas to avoid touching, etc. The more I know, the better I can care for your fur baby, so please don’t worry about scaring me away if your dog/s has any reactivities towards other animals, people, while walking on a leash, etc.

A typical day

I enjoy taking them out on walks around their neighborhood, or to a dog park if they’re friendly and sociable with other dogs and people. I'll gladly take suggestions for any walking routes, parks, or other places that you normally take your dog/s to. Please let me know if they’re toy- and/or treat-motivated! Toys and treats are essential when working on specific training, and I’d be happy to continue training to keep consistency. Just a heads up, I only use fear-free and positive reinforcement techniques.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by animals of all sizes, ages, conditions, and temperaments; from dogs to cats, and other small animals. For over 15 years, I’ve cared for family and friend’s pets 💕 During that time, I also expanded my services onto Rover after moving to Portland in 2018. I love caring for senior and special-need pets, as well as bully breeds like Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, etc. Other services that I can provide are (but not limited to): - Administering oral and topical medications, - grooming (brushing, bathing, and nail trims only - specific breeds), - additional enrichment with toys/treats/lick mats, - working on basic training, - cleaning litter boxes, cages, or kennels. - trail walking, etc.
